Cream after a mosquito bite
Cream after a mosquito bite

Hello to all readers of my blog! How do you deal with the consequences of mosquito bites? I honestly hate them. If there is no cream at hand after a mosquito bite, then I comb the wound into the blood without noticing it myself.

Of course, because of this, she heals much longer than she could. Although I have a cream in the medicine cabinet that helps to forget about itching literally in the first minutes after application. If you suffer from the bites of these parasites in the same way, then I bring to your attention my article!

How to smear a mosquito bite

Summer is a favorite time of all, which promises us hot days, a good mood and a long-awaited outdoor recreation. Unfortunately, the arrival of the warm season is overshadowed by one significant problem - the invasion of blood-sucking insects.

Mosquitoes attack people in nature, in cities and even in their own homes, completely depriving us of rest and sleep. To protect themselves from annoying insects, people use modern protective equipment, and mosquito bites creams to relieve itching.

Others simply ignore the bloodsuckers without noticing a serious threat in them. Such people adhere to the opinion “it will scratch and pass”, which most often happens. However, in some situations, mosquito bites are far from harmless as it seems at first glance.

What is dangerous mosquito bite

In most adults, bites cause only redness and unpleasant itching. Unfortunately, this cannot be said of children (especially infants), which insects bite most often.

Important!
The fragile body of the child has a much worse resistance to infection, so even small wounds turn into large blisters. This leads to swelling, severe itching, inflammation, and serious allergic reactions. As a result, the child's mood deteriorates, sleep worsens and irritability appears.

At risk are adults who are prone to severe allergic reactions. In addition to the rash and severe itching, they often have serious complications:

  • fever and chills;
  • nausea and headaches;
  • fever and asthma attacks.

In some cases, anaphylactic shock leads to laryngeal edema, a drop in blood pressure, and even death.

Attention!
If you do not have a strong reaction, then the bites are still dangerous, because they carry a risk of infection. Female mosquitoes bite victims up to 8 times a day, transferring viruses between animals and humans. This increases the likelihood of contracting serious illnesses, including fever, encephalitis, malaria, and many others.

To minimize the consequences and prevent allergies, doctors recommend special medications, including creams after mosquito bites. However, even before they are applied, preventive measures are needed to help avoid infection.

First aid for a mosquito bite

What to do if a mosquito bit you? The most important thing is not to comb the wound: otherwise, you will damage the skin even more and simplify the infection.

Wash the bite with cool water and soap - this will kill most germs, reducing the risk of infection and an allergic reaction.

Advice!
To prevent swelling of the wound, immediately apply something cold to it. For this purpose, any improvised means are suitable, for example, a towel dipped in water, an ice cube or a can of chilled soda.

To reduce puffiness, some alternative methods are also suitable, for example, soda lotion, which is applied to the site of the bite. Other effective remedies for combating allergies and itching are:

  1. ammonia;
  2. pink potassium permanganate solution;
  3. alcohol;
  4. tea tree oil;
  5. lemon juice;
  6. garlic clove;
  7. green onion juice, etc.

For most people, this is enough to forget about the wound in half an hour. However, folk remedies do not help everyone or do not always come at hand.

If the primary treatment did not give the expected result, use a more powerful remedy: special antihistamine ointments from mosquitoes.

The better to smear mosquito bites

Modern pharmaceuticals offers a large selection of creams, gels and ointments for mosquito bites. We will talk about the most famous and effective drugs that have proven themselves in practice.

  • Fenistil is one of the most famous drugs that minimizes all the symptoms of a mosquito bite: itching, redness, pain and swelling of the tissues. Its important advantage is its low price and safety even for infants (over one month old). Moreover, Fenistil is a universal remedy and is suitable for the treatment of bites of many other insects: bugs, midges, fleas, etc. The only limitation of the drug is the prohibition of deep scratches and bleeding abrasions.
  • "Akriderm GK" - this tool is used for skin lesions and severe dermatitis, as well as an ointment for mosquitoes and bugs. The drug quickly eliminates itching and prevents the appearance of a rash on the damaged area of the skin. Among other things, Akriderm GK is highly delicate and suitable for delicate baby skin.
  • Vietnamese Zvezdochka balm is a universal antiseptic based on natural ingredients. It accelerates the healing of the skin with any damage, including insect bites. The asterisk is suitable for all categories of patients, with the exception of people with a pronounced reaction to one of the components of the balm.
  • "Bepanten" - an agent in the form of an ointment or cream containing dexpanthenol. This active substance provides a stable anti-inflammatory and healing effect. It quickly relieves itching and moisturizes the wound, accelerating the healing process. Bepanten is suitable for young children and pregnant women, and the list of its contraindications is limited only to the individual's reaction.

All of these mosquito bite creams are sold only in pharmacies and in some cases are not available. Fortunately, they are easily replaced by close-in-action household products that are sold in online stores and supermarkets. Among the most common drugs, the products of the series stand out:

  1. Gardex;
  2. Off
  3. Mosquitall;
  4. Taiga and some others.

All well-known lines are represented by a wide range of drugs, including products for children. For example, Gardex baby cream has a delicate effect and quickly relieves itching, and Taiga sprays relieve painful symptoms and protect against repeated bites.

How to apply mosquito bite cream

Choosing an effective remedy is only half the battle in eliminating itching and swelling. Equally important is the correct application of the drug to the damaged area of the skin.

  • Immediately after a mosquito bite and flushing the wound, apply the product on the damaged area of the skin.Remember: in this case, the less the better.
  • Rub the cream in massaging circular movements until it is completely absorbed. Do not rub, but lightly smear it on the surface.
  • Do not allow the drug on mucous and damaged skin. Treatment of mosquito bites on the face is also undesirable, since the cream often gets into the eyes or mouth of a person with sweat.
  • Immediately after treating the affected area, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. In nature, a wet towel or a special solution for washing hands is suitable.
  • If you have an allergic reaction to the drug (which is extremely rare), quickly rinse it off with plenty of water.

Useful Tips

In conclusion, we note that ointments from mosquitoes only relieve the consequences, but not from the bites themselves. It is much better and safer to completely protect yourself from insects. This goal is easily achieved using a variety of tools and devices, including:

  1. mosquito nets and fumigators, which are widely used indoors;
  2. special anti-mosquito coils for repelling insects on the street;
  3. protective repellents in the form of sprays, creams and aerosols that are applied to clothing and exposed skin;
  4. personal bracelets that are worn on the wrists and protect open hands from bites;
  5. special traps that attract insects and destroy them with a current discharge;

Use modern means of protection, and you will forever forget about the existence of mosquitoes!

By the way, if a saturated mosquito is slammed, after it remains a bloody speck of food that has not had time to process.

The appetizing aroma by which the bloodsuckers recognize their victim is even the subtle smell of human sweat, which contains a strong irritant octenol. It is his insect that feels, being at a distance of 5 km from the victim.

The antennae segments accurately direct the bloodsucker to food up to hundreds of meters from it, then the mosquito focuses on the heat of the human body, which, like a light bulb, shows a power source near 50 m.

Or use recipients of various types: from creams to sprays, unsafe or openly harmful to health. And all would be fine, but what about allergy sufferers?

  7. Stick or spoon for stirring.
  • Melt wax in a water bath
  • When it melts about half, add emulsion wax,
  • Then add mango butter or another butter. It melts faster than wax, and so that everything from us does not boil, it is best to add solid oils in the last turn. This is especially true for mango butter.

Mosquitoes protection

The arrival of summer is not only a vacation by the sea, outings on nature. With the onset of warm days, the summer season begins, inevitable contact with mosquitoes occurs.

Not only does their monotonous squeak at night cause a quiet rage, mosquito bites cause discomfort to adults and the painful sensations of the child. The midge does not lag behind in terms of “harmfulness”. Her massive bites provoke an allergy, worsen her mood, cause itching and cause skin pain.

Blood vessels under thin skin in children are especially attracted by insects. For effective protection, it is important that the mosquito or midge is not able to bite. Cloves and vanillin are those smells from which "bloodsuckers" try to stay away.

Mosquito repellent cream

Creams with vanilla additives are popular. They benefit from rapidly evaporating liquid solutions. In contrast, the cream does not need to be applied every half hour, like an aerosol.

The dense and dense structure on the body forms a protective film that protects the vanillin crystals, retains an odor. But due to the dense texture in the heat, the body sweats, and the greasy layer prevents sweating. It is preferable to apply in windy weather.

  • As an alternative to replacing the cream, Vaseline can be used as a base. It (1 tbsp.spoon) is slightly heated and mixed with 20 g of vanillin. The cooled ointment from mosquitoes on vanilla is used for application to the skin.
  • For children, it is recommended to take any baby cream as the basis. It is the most neutral, both by smell and by the neutral reaction exerted on the body. For adults, any other lubricating composition for the body or hands is suitable. Then nothing complicated. You can make a cream for mosquitoes with vanilla by unrolling the tube on the back side and squeezing out an elastic texture. You will need to mix the spice well with the cosmetic product, observing the proportions 1: 5 (10). In practical use, it will be a bag (20 g) per teaspoon (tablespoon) of cream. The prepared preparation is again placed in a tube. Its edges are tightly wrapped. The composition is ready to use. Baby cream with mosquito vanilla is applied to the body. The scaring smell of vanilla persists for more than 2 hours.

If the cream option is not suitable or it was not at hand, try diluting vanillin from midges and mosquitoes with a “neutral” smell oil or with a mild aroma that does not interrupt the smell of vanillin. It can be refined sunflower, petroleum jelly, olive, corn oil. It is taken:

  1. 150 g of an oily base and heated in a water bath.
  2. Add vanilla seasoning (1 or 2 sachets).
  3. The composition is mixed, shakes well.
  4. It is applied to those integuments that do not come in contact with clothing.
