How to rid a dog of fleas

Good day. A couple of days ago was at a neighbor's anniversary. Angelica is a good woman who never refuses help.

He likes to shelter pets. When I was with her, I saw a dog who almost constantly scratched her paw behind her ear and tried to gnaw something in her hair.

Obviously, these were fleas. Angelica advised a reliable tool that will help her doggie. Want to learn how to rid a dog of fleas? Quickly and painlessly cope with these parasites? Then read in the article below all the details.

How to rid a dog of fleas: from a first-aid kit to folk remedies

The cliche regarding dogs: “Do not touch, it is flea”, although it has a sharply negative meaning, it also has good reason. Blood-sucking parasites are constant companions of pets and so far, science has not invented a way to get rid of them forever.

The most unpleasant moment is that the bloodsuckers can "catch" the owner of the pet by surprise, so even a novice dog breeder must clearly know how to save the dog from fleas.

Why is it impossible to get rid of this parasite once and for all?

In order not to go into the details of parasitology, we note the main points. The “flea genus” is more than 50 million years old, which means these parasites are more than adapted for survival. In the conditions of a city or a settlement, the most common species is “common flea”, the most adapted and “universal predators”.

Important!
Fleas are secondarily wingless insects that have evolved and shed their wings, for greater body streamlining, which increases the length and speed of the jump and also makes the parasite more invisible and invulnerable.

Fleas feed exclusively on blood, and a parasite of the same species can bite any animal or person for the sake of the next "ration". An average dog can live 200–250 adult fleas, and their constant bites will lead to severe itching, anemia and dermatitis, if earlier, the animal will not become infected with a more serious disease.

An adult female can live up to 1.5 years, while she lays up to 500 eggs in 2 months, and the survival rate of offspring is 80–90%, depending on the type of settlement and the number of stray animals.

Where the dog can pick them up

Standard advice: "Do not walk on tall grass, in order to avoid the attack of fleas and ticks", it is logical. Indeed, such a trip without preliminary preventive treatment of the dog is rather risky, 2–4 fleas and a pair of ticks may well reach the pet.

However, there are places where parasites attack in dozens. Basements, underground passages, garbage cans - damp and heat - ideal conditions for laying eggs. Pellet larvae are almost omnivorous and able to feed on sewage.

Stray animals - are usually overpopulated with fleas, eggs are laid directly on the dog's body, and the larvae feed on the feces of adults.

Carrion is an “incubator” and a power source in one place. Hundreds of fleas are literally thrown onto a dead bird, animal or food waste fragments. Parasites eat and breed in one place, and the dog’s instinctive desire to “wallow in the dead” leads to an instant and severe defeat by the “bloodsuckers”.

Withdrawal Rules

Did you notice the dog's anxiety? Is the pet scratching, whining and gnawing on the hair? Do fleas attack you too? The problem must be solved! And to do this in a comprehensive and effective way so as not to leave “loopholes for retreat” to parasites.

Advice!
Owners of private houses and apartments on the first floors should be treated as part of prevention, because fleas are not only carried by dogs, but a cat, rat, bird or person can become a “transport”.

General rules:

  1. Make sure fleas are attacking you. The only way is visual.
  2. Treat all animals living in the home at the same time.
  3. Vacuum thoroughly the dog’s resting place, carpets and the gaps between the baseboards and the walls.
  4. Do not use bleach or volatile poisons to exterminate parasites - the risk of poisoning is not comparable with respect to effectiveness.

Treat the house with special sprays for crawling insects, veterinary insecticides, contact the SES or the insect extermination service. Depending on the product used, strictly observe safety measures.

Preventive treatment of the dog does not guarantee that the animal will not bring parasites into the house.

Breeding methods

In the processing of the premises, household poisons are used, which are extremely dangerous for animals. There are a number of ways that will help you quickly rid your dog of fleas. However, the funds are valid only if you follow the instructions and understand the nuance that almost all popular brands can be faked and cost less than the original.

Shampoo. It can have 2 functions - to kill or “drive off” fleas. Regardless of the type of active substance, the main goal is disorientation of insects and paralysis of nerve nodes. After lathering, fleas jump from the dog, the remaining ones accumulate on the face and in the croup.

Shampoo does not give a lasting effect, its main purpose is primary treatment to reduce the number of parasites.

Powder or “dry shampoo”. The tool exists, however, is rarely used. The powder, which is based on talcum powder, is applied in small portions and rubbed on the skin of the animal, after which the hair must be combed carefully. As practice shows, it is quite difficult to completely get rid of the drug, and when licking, poisoning occurs in the animal.

Carefully read the list of contraindications and possible side effects, keep in mind that it is extremely difficult to calculate the dosage of the powder, it also dries the hair and provokes excessive sebum separation. The only possible application that does not conflict with logic is the absence of other means of parasites, including the crest and water.

Drops. The most popular flea prevention product used at home. Available in individual pipettes and calculated by the weight of the animal. The tool is applied to the skin of the withers so that the dog can not lick the poison. The active substances are absorbed into the blood within 2-4 days, after which the dog can be bathed.

Attention!
The packaging should describe how to correctly calculate the product and how much it will act. Most often, the period of protection against ticks is much shorter than from fleas.Drops can not be treated puppies, pregnant dogs, animals with wounds on the body.

All flea drops have an age limit, which is indicated on the package.

Collar. Serves for the prevention of flea damage. It is made of flexible material and is worn and fixed on the dog’s neck. Depending on the principle of action, the following types of collars are distinguished:

  • Gas is the most common type, due to the wide price range. Most often, it is made of rubber and emits poisonous gas during the period of validity. Poisonous substances drive parasites to the tail area, where paralyzed fleas die.
  • Radiation - a rare occurrence, due to the lack of full-fledged clinical trials and "intelligible" guarantees of pet safety. It acts as a source of a radiation spectrum that is safe for a dog, but intolerant to insects.
  • Ultrasound is an expensive but effective accessory. It emits a spectrum of sound waves that repels insects within a certain radius from the pet.
  • Biological is the safest kind, the rubber base is saturated with extracts of herbs and essential oils. Allowed use for puppies and pregnant dogs.

Validity of many collars is reduced when getting wet, carefully read the operating instructions before buying.

Spray. It is used as an additional means of protection before a walk or an emergency measure in assisting the animal. Most often, it acts instantly and protects the dog's coat for a short period. High efficiency due to the large processing area.

Spray treatment requires special attention to safety measures. The product is sprayed only on the street, hands are protected with gloves, after processing the dog cannot be stroked and the pet should not lick the coat.

Tablets. A rare tool with a "solid" list of side effects. Given that the remedy does not completely eliminate fleas, but only reduces their number and the lack of adequate arguments in favor of tablets, few veterinarians and even the pet store seller will advise to conduct experiments on wards.

How to help your pet without using "chemistry"

But now the most interesting thing is that on all effective and proven means there is an inscription: “It is forbidden to use for dogs younger than 4-8 weeks” and how can you save a puppy from fleas, you ask? The answer is simple - by mechanical (manually) or folk remedies, which may also be unsafe, he will be described below.

Important!
Information also applies to owners who have a nursing “mom” or need to rid a pregnant dog of fleas, because insecticides penetrate the placental barrier and are excreted in milk.

Among the common tools, we can distinguish:

  • The combing and mechanical destruction of fleas is the only way allowed for sucking puppies.
  • Decoctions and infusions of plants - wormwood, rosemary, tansy, geranium, eucalyptus, cedar, lemon, needles. The product is prepared according to the recipe and is used to regularly treat the dog and its resting place.
  • Essential oils - the product is prepared from water, alcohol and oils from the above plants. The solution is used for spraying wool, processing the collar and litter. Sometimes, the smell of oil annoys pets.
  • Combing with a soapy solution - a product from herbs or oil is introduced into the foamed water, after which the dog is soaped and thoroughly combed out with a small comb.
  • Tar soap - used for regular bathing of the dog, until the parasites are completely eliminated. If foam enters your mouth, it can cause mild poisoning.
  • Garlic infusion - not recommended for use if there are other options.
  • Garlic is toxic if it enters the stomach, but a large number of antiseptics and antiparasitic agents are made on its basis.

Biting pests

Each owner wants his beloved pet to be healthy and live long. There are many dangers that threaten dogs walking on the street, including the appearance of fleas. How to get rid of fleas in a dog will be described later.

Why are they dangerous?

These are blood-sucking insects. In the process of evolution, they lost the ability to fly. The flattened body of the parasite protects the dense shell, so it is not easy to destroy the pest.

Fleas are prolific: a female lays up to fifty eggs per day. As a result, it is impossible to rid the dog by picking pests from the wool. The problem is that the eggs can be everywhere where the dog was, because they are not attached to the coat.

A flea bites a dog and secretes saliva into the wound, carrying thousands of bacteria harmful to the pet.

They can affect the development of dermatitis, cause terrible allergies, severe itching, rashes and hair loss. In addition, the parasite is a carrier of terrible infections and an intermediate carrier of some varieties of worms.

Pet Flea Signs

It is not difficult to understand whether a dog is bothered by fleas: for this, it is necessary to carefully examine the animal. Detection of white grains or small dark specks on the skin is an alarming signal. In the first situation, we are dealing with flea eggs, but black grains are the waste products of parasites.

Advice!
To make sure that they are flea feces, conduct a test: they are dripped with water, and waste products turn the water red due to the presence of blood in them.

Adult fleas are found when combing a dog against hair. Mostly pests live behind the ears, armpits and on the back of the body, although they can settle everywhere on the skin of the animal. Bites of parasites provoke the appearance of redness and small swelling, therefore, the condition of the skin of the animal is also worth paying attention to.

The peculiar behavior also indicates the presence of fleas. If parasites torment a pet, then it begins to scratch intensely, trying to get rid of the itching caused by bites of pests, and violently bites into thick hair, trying to destroy the parasites. Anxiety and irritability of a dog is a possible symptom of fleas. Especially if these qualities are manifested in the restrained Akita Inu.

It is worth starting treatment only when you are sure that your pet has fleas. Often, owners take flea bites as an allergy and begin to treat pests, bringing even more harm to the pet.

What to do?

You can remove parasites with home remedies if there is no way to get to the pet store. We will tell you how to rid a dog of fleas using folk remedies.

  • One method is to wash the dog using tar soap. This soap is a great alternative to industrial shampoos. However, do not overdo it: the soap strongly dries the delicate dog skin. Especially if it is York leather.
  • Wormwood tincture is rubbed into the surface of the dog's body and the floor is treated with a decoction of the plant.
  • In the pet's kennel, they arrange a couch of pine sawdust.

How to process

If pests are found, it is necessary to immediately begin the destruction, because the account goes to the clock. Given the cosmic rate of parasite breeding, a flock of biting pests will soon torment the pet.

To get rid of fleas, the dog is bathed using a special shampoo, combed out while in the bathroom, and then the parasites are thoroughly washed off to the sewer. After two or three days, the animal is treated with a flea remedy (it is worth using the funds specifically for dogs, human or feline will not work).

Dog bed and care items must be boiled, because we remember that worm eggs can remain in the things of the animal. After a month, the treatment of the dog is repeated to destroy the parasites hatched from the eggs.

After flea bites, worms may appear. Therefore, after the detection of parasites, the pet is given anthelmintic drugs, without waiting for obvious symptoms of infection with worms. If there are too many pests, it is worth processing the apartment: wash the floors and spray with special means.

For processing puppies use only those products that are designed for their age. Medicines for adult animals can greatly harm babies.

Anti-flea drugs

There are a large number of industrial means for the destruction of fleas.

Shampoos. Shampoos are unable to independently remove parasites, they are used in combination with other methods of control. Shampoos are insecticidal and natural.

Attention!
The first variety can quickly and efficiently destroy fleas, but it can also cause allergies, redness and irritation. Natural shampoos heal wounds, improve the quality of the coat. The dog is washed with shampoos and left for five to seven minutes, and then thoroughly washed.

Drops. The use of drops is considered the best method of combating insects, because they have a comprehensive effect. They treat the skin of the dog in the area of the withers with a liquid to avoid the likelihood of licking the drug. The active substance enters the bloodstream and rid the animal of insects in two treatments.

It is forbidden to use drops to treat puppies, females in position and nursing mothers.

Sprays. If there is no way to urgently bathe a dog, then a flea-proof spray will come to the rescue. It is sprayed on the body of the animal. It has side effects: it may appear in the eyes of the pet, the possibility of licking the spray from the coat is likely. The animal is treated with a spray in a room with air access using rubber gloves.

The dog can not be wet two hours after the procedure. Side effects are possible: vomiting, shortness of breath, dermatitis.

Chewable tablets. The use of tablets is not common among dog owners. The drug is mixed with food in a dosage corresponding to the numbers indicated in the instructions. Pills can provoke the appearance of allergies and harm the central nervous system and the gastrointestinal tract.

Collars. Collars are suitable both as preventative measures and as treating ones. One collar can be used for four months, after which it is worth buying another. This method of struggle is very convenient. However, collars are toxic and can cause various adverse reactions. Contraindicated in puppies, females in position and dogs feeding cubs.

Prevention of occurrence

To prevent the occurrence of fleas in your pet, you should follow several rules. It is necessary to keep the apartment and porch clean. Domestic dogs should not be allowed to interact with stray dogs.

Important!
You can take care of the curs, treating them with affordable flea remedies. After all, homeless individuals are no different from domestic ones, they are also alive, they also experience great discomfort from the presence of fleas. It is necessary to show humanity and help unfortunate dogs.

The dog must be inspected periodically in order to notice the appearance of parasites in time. In summer, it is necessary to prophylactically treat pets with drops and use collars.

Observance of simple rules will help to avoid infection of your favorite animals with fleas. The timely detection of insects will increase the likelihood of quick healing.

How to remove fleas from a dog and save a pet from torment?

A flea bite is not only not pleasant to the animal, but can also cause infection with some sore that the flea will suffer after being bitten by another infected beast. In general, it’s better to just do prevention and get rid of fleas on time.

It’s not easy enough to treat fleas in a dog only with folk remedies. However, there are several proven recipes for expelling fleas that will not leave a single chance for parasites to survive. To begin with, we comb out the dog with a comb, then bathe with shampoo, and then treat it with a flea remedy.

This procedure will definitely ease your pet by a few grams, thanks to getting rid of fleas, dirt and hair. Also, she will prepare the foundation for the use of parasitic drugs. Now we will learn to comb fleas, for which we will need:

  1. Flea comb for dogs (sold at any pet store).
  2. Basin with soapy water.
  3. Walking dog. Less physical activity - easier to control during the whole process.

The banal crest of fleas is an invention as old as the world, which has not lost its relevance until now. All you need is a basin with soapy water and a comb for fleas.

Advice!
Comb your dog properly wherever possible. Particular attention should be paid to the back and stomach. After each pass by combing the coat, soak it in soapy water so that the soap will surely kill all fleas and eggs.

After that, redeem the dog. To rid a dog of fleas with folk remedies, you can make a shampoo for swimming on your own. If you do not want to fool yourself with folk methods, then just get a flea shampoo for dogs in a Vetaptek. Often they help not only in the fight against fleas, but also, for example, ticks.

How to prepare a flea remedy for dogs yourself

Making a flea remedy on your own is not so difficult, and the price of the final product is quite low. This soap should be used as a shampoo while bathing.

The following ingredients should be present in each shampoo. In general, each oil should be just a few drops:

  • Cedar or other oil, high in vitamin E. It should be put about 2%.
  • Castor oil. Putting no more than 2-3% of the total mass of soap.
  • Essential oils should be 3-4% of the total mass, but for starters you can put a little less.

All written recipes can be used without adding to liquid soap. Just mix the ingredients you need and, after bathing, use as directed.

The first recipe. In equal proportions, mix lavender oil, cedar oil and eucalyptus with a soap base.

The second recipe. With the same soap base, mix equal proportions of lavender oil, tea tree, and cedar essential oil. It is truly a nuclear tool for dogs against ticks and fleas!

The recipe is the third. Take one part of lavender, citronella and tea tree, which can be used either separately from soap, or mixed with a soap base.

The fourth recipe. In a soap base, mix cedar oil, tea tree oil and two parts of eucalyptus. Instead of eucalyptus, it is better not to use mint.

What properties do oils have?

Lavender and citronella are famous as the worst enemies of fleas and mosquitoes, which, incidentally, can also be carriers of diseases. Tea tree has antiseptic and antibacterial properties, and cedar has the ability to fix odors and acts as a repellent (repels parasites).

Attention!
Mint not only gives a pleasant smell, but also gives a lot of trouble fleas. Eucalyptus is able to not only provide a good smell, but also kills harmful microorganisms, and is also a repellent.

Some dogs may be allergic to the remedies listed above, so either reduce the dosage of the oils or consult your veterinarian.

What to do after swimming?

After bathing, you can mix the ingredients described above, but without liquid soap, and use them as a remedy for fleas. Alternatively, use the recipe below, which is very effective in controlling parasites.

  • 500 ml of water.
  • Cedarwood essential oil.
  • Lavender essential oil.
  • Spray.
  • Pure dog.

Pour water into a spray bottle, add cedar wood, lavender essential oil and mix.The resulting composition should be sprayed on the skin of the dog, trying to pay attention to literally every part of the body, especially the back and stomach. Eye contact even with one drop can cause irritation, so it is better to be careful when treating the head area.

How often should I use this tool? Since essential oils do not differ in resistance, they need to be treated with a dog more often than with conventional medications.

Although the procedure for making soap is not complicated at all, but the product itself is inexpensive, I prefer to use only conventional preparations for fleas and other parasites. They are more stable, more efficient and more practical. If you think the same, then after combing the comb and bathing, just apply the purchased product on the dog.

What remedy to buy?

Shampoo. Shampoo can provide flea protection for up to 10-15 days. It is necessary to use it when bathing, and protection against fleas is rather a pleasant side effect, since after bathing you will still need to apply the product. Do not bathe the same dog every two weeks! By the way, you can use regular baby shampoo.

Drops from fleas and sprays. Standard after-bath treatments. They can be used without bathing the dog, but the effect, of course, will not be so noticeable. Drops and sprays are equally good, and your task will be to find one that will help your pet.

Important!
Flea collars. The collar can also protect your animal from annoying fleas. It is inexpensive, though I don’t think that it will completely protect a large dog from these parasites. In any case, look at your pet, it may be worth less to rely on the anti-flea collar and do standard processing.

It’s best to just comb out and bathe the beast with shampoo, and then treat with purchased / homemade products. Also, do not let your dog communicate with animals that may be potential flea carriers.

In any case, you need to monitor your pet and protect it from minor dangers that promise great trouble. If you already picked up an infection, then try to get the fleas out of the dog as soon as possible by following the described set of procedures.

Fleas in a dog. How to withdraw folk remedies without harming the pet?

Looking at the torment of your pet, you want to cope with parasites as soon as possible. But be careful when using any remedy, since it is very important that the dog does not have allergies to it, so before treatment, the vet will seem to be the best option.

If you do not have such an opportunity, then you can try folk remedies in action. Many of them are very popular and really able to cope with parasites.

Machining wool mechanically. This folk method is very popular among dog breeders, as it is very simple and affordable. The most important thing in a mechanical procedure is regularity and harmlessness for a pet.

To remove fleas, you can buy a special comb against insects, which is sold in any pet store. The action of the comb is that it is saturated with essential oils with rather unusual odors. Very often, manufacturers use mint, eucalyptus or lavender.

In order for the procedure to bring the most positive effect, when combing, pay special attention to the stomach and ears, because these are the most favorite places for fleas. This is due to the fact that insects are very afraid of water, and when bathing, these places get wet the least.

Therefore, after combing, be sure to bathe the dog with shampoo, which contains components that destroy fleas.

Is it possible to make an anti-flea shampoo at home?

Thinking about which folk remedies for fleas for dogs will work best, you can prepare a homemade shampoo that will help you deal with insects. All substances that are used in the composition are completely natural and have a small price.

Advice!
Take any essential oil that has a strong odor. For example, you can use lavender or grapefruit oil, or you can take a few drops of one and the other, it definitely won’t get any worse.

Be sure to mix 4 drops of essential oils with base oil. Castor or burdock oil can be used as a base, they have excellent soothing properties. If you do not use the base, severe burns may appear on the skin of the pet, which will only aggravate the situation and make itching after bites even stronger.

If during bathing with such shampoo you notice that your dog immediately began to itch, then rinse immediately with plenty of cold water and stop using the product.

Get a soap that comes in liquid form. Pay attention to its composition, the soap should not have too many chemical elements, as they can be dangerous for the dog. Mix the soap with a solution in which oils are present, and add a little glycerin to the mixture.

By following all these rules, you will get a wonderful anti-flea shampoo. The disadvantage of this tool is only one: essential oils are strong allergens.

Therefore, if after bathing you notice redness of the skin of the dog, then the next time add a little more base to the mixture or use other odors as part of the shampoo.

Plants that help you rid your dog of insects

Plants must be used on the same principle as essential oils. It is necessary to choose species that have a sharp and repellent odor, as they will be very effective against parasites.

Garlic has an excellent repelling odor. Grind it with a special device to make a small slurry.

Attention!
Take wormwood, it works great as a tool against most crawling and flying insects. Make a decoction with wormwood and add garlic pulp to it.

Do not use too much product for the first time. Make a trial test first to make sure your pet is not allergic to this or that product.

A mixture of wormwood and garlic should be applied to the back of the pet so that it cannot reach it with the tongue, as this can be dangerous to the health of the animal.

Flea eliminating drops

If you are not a supporter of folk remedies, or they do not bring you the proper result, then you can simultaneously combine folk methods with a drug such as drops against insects. The product is absolutely safe and effective, especially if used properly.

Be sure to inform the store employee that your dog is sick or pregnant. They will pick up a product that does no harm to your pet.

And also another plus of drops is that they are released for very young puppies. Drops should be applied only to the ears, tail and stomach. Firstly, these are the most frequent habitats of fleas, and secondly, the pet will not be able to reach these places with its tongue.

Folk remedies for fleas in cats and dogs

Often, fluffy pets are infected with blood-sucking insects fleas that live comfortably and breed in the hair of an animal. Eating the blood of a dog or cat, parasites painfully bite and make an itchy mark on the body.

All this causes discomfort to the animal, which begins to itch until the appearance of wounds that can become inflamed and infected. You can help your pet get rid of fleas using folk remedies.

Detection and infection methods

Fleas are small blood-sucking insects of brown or black color with a size of only three to seven millimeters.Noticing them is quite difficult, especially if the dog or cat has long, thick, dark hair. Carefully peering, you can see on the animal’s body as if small lumps of dirt that move.

Important!
Pets can pick up blood-sucking insects on a walk. But a domestic cat can also become infected with fleas, the larvae of which from the street on its shoes were brought by its owners.

A pet infected with parasites almost constantly itches, trying to get rid of an unpleasant itch. Because of this, he becomes very nervous. Combs appear on his body, which are mostly located on the withers, lower jaw, in the abdomen. It is in these places that fleas most often live.

Parasites can be carriers of infectious diseases:

  • salmonellosis;
  • tularemia;
  • hepatitis A;
  • typhoid;
  • the plague.

Fleas multiply very quickly and move from the animal to the premises, spreading throughout the apartment. They especially like to live and lay eggs in the litter of pets, in carpets, folds of upholstered furniture.

At the first sign of infection of a cat or dog with parasites, it is urgent to take measures to kill insects.

Advantages and disadvantages

The use of folk recipes for the destruction of parasites does not require professional intervention and is an environmentally friendly and easy to use disinfection option. In addition, their benefits include:

  • Folk remedies are safe for kittens, pregnant and lactating cats.
  • They can be used for those animals in which an allergic reaction is observed to insecticides.
  • Lotions and decoctions from some medicinal herbs not only relieve fleas and ticks, but also heal wounds formed at the site of combs.
  • Insecticides for parasites are often faked. A self-made folk recipe never crashes.

However, when using herbs, tinctures, compounds, you should not expect a quick result.

To get rid of parasites with their help, regular thorough processing is necessary.

In addition, many products can only repel insects, and not kill them. As long as the dog or cat’s hair smells of scaring grass, ticks and fleas will not settle on it.

Folk remedies for fleas in dogs and cats

When ridding an animal of parasites, some rules must be observed:

  • Accuracy. Folk recipes do not contain insecticides, but some of them in a sensitive animal or kitten may have allergic reactions. Therefore, before using the herb or solution, the product should be tested on a small area of the skin of the pet.
  • Regularity. Solutions prepared at home are weaker than insecticides, therefore, to obtain the effect require more applications. They will need to be treated with animals regularly, without missing procedures. Otherwise, new adult individuals will grow from the larvae, which again begin to cause trouble to the pet.
  • Combing out. After processing, the pet should be combed out with a small comb. It is best if combing is done daily.
  • A complex approach. All pets living in the house should be processed immediately. You also need to clean the room from parasites, be sure to treat the bedding of animals.

Fleas and ticks are afraid of the smell of wormwood, so this herb is often used in the preparation of folk recipes for the destruction and prevention of parasites.   2. the mixture is brought to a jelly-like state on fire;
  3. after the jelly has cooled, chopped onion, egg yolk, a few drops of nettle infusion are added to it.

  • a pinch of brewer's yeast is added to the infusion;
  • when the yeast dissolves, the infusion is filtered through several gauze layers.

The finished product is rubbed into the animal at the withers and along the spine. In these places the cat will not be able to reach.

Several popular recipes

Deriving parasites from the animal is quite simple. It is enough to know several effective folk remedies:

Antiplaque, and at the same time, tar soap is an antiseptic. They should lather the cat or dog until it forms a plentiful foam. After washing the soap and drying the animal, its coat must be combed. Tar soap can cure dermatitis and the fungal nature of ulcers.

You can make an anti-flea collar yourself by treating it with a mixture of tea tree oil and eucalyptus oil. On the collar you need to drip only a few drops. In this case, the mixture should not get on the skin of the pet.

Fleas can be removed using ordinary table salt. A pack of the product is bred in a bucket of warm water, placed in the animal solution and incubated for at least 5 minutes. After this, the pets are washed in the shower and wiped with a towel.

The result is a mixture of equal parts of flower cologne, 3% vinegar and ammonia. The wool is treated from the spray gun, after which the pet is wrapped in cellophane for 5-10 minutes. After the procedure, the animal must be redeemed in warm water.

After elimination of parasites, preventive measures should be taken to avoid re-infection. You can use the same folk remedies for this, since most of them have a deterrent effect.
