How to deal with wasps in the house, in the country and apiary, so that no one is hurt

how to deal with wasps
How to deal with wasps

Good day. I am quite calm with many insects. Not afraid and not annoyed at their sight.

But a few years ago I was really scared. And the wasps were to blame. One fine day I climbed into the attic - to restore order there.

And then I saw just a huge hornet's nest. I almost fell off this attic. And from there, the wasps tumbled down. I got scared a lot. Then, nevertheless, she pulled herself together and dealt with them. Want to learn how to deal with wasps? How to destroy their nests? I want to tell you in detail about this.

How to deal with wasps

In the summer, especially in August, many summer residents are worried about the problem - how to get rid of wasps on their site? Both chemical preparations and various folk remedies are used. But getting rid of wasps is not as easy as it might seem at first glance.

Important!
Adult wasps eat nectar of flowers, like sweet apples, raspberries, gooseberries, pears. But wasps give particular preference to grapes. Moreover, as soon as the berries in your vineyard begin to burst slightly, there will be no end to wasps. And they “bite” them indiscriminately, both bursting and whole.

Wasps do the same with apples, whole wasps do not attract apples, but if the fruits crack, insatiable wasps attack the apple trees too! Whole caves eat away in the wasp fruits; such caves become a haven for a huge number of insects.

By the way, it is worth remembering that wasps are not so aggressive during the procurement of food, it is quite possible to drive them away from both the apple tree and grapes, use a twig or cloth, but do not make any sudden movements!

Wasps are dangerous when they build a nest, then the instinct of protecting the house works for them. And do not forget that the sting of a wasp is smooth, it does not always leave it at the site of a bite, so a wasp can sting several times (unlike a bee).

Methods and Tools

Favorite habitats of wasps are attics of houses, roofs of verandas and sheds. There is a practice of burning wasp nests, summer residents who were annoyed by wasps in the summer, with the onset of cold weather, they remove wasp nests and burn them. In the spring, also inspect the verandas and attics, remove and burn the nests found!

So you can protect yourself from the neighborhood with these insects. The returning female, not finding her nest, will fly to another place. In the summer, it is much more difficult to destroy a hornet's nest.

You can do this only at night, cover the nest with a tight bag with an insecticide embedded in it. This is, however, a very dangerous thing, if angry insects can get out of the trap, there will be no need to wait for mercy for the summer resident!

So the best time to fight wasps is early spring, that's when the hornet's nests need to be destroyed.Well, if the deadlines are missed and the wasps settled in your dacha? An ideal way to deal with wasps is to treat the site and the house with insect control specialists. However, this is a rather expensive pleasure and it is not convenient for everyone to wait for the arrival of specialists to process the site.

You can independently spray the nests with a special solution (mix in equal proportions cypermethrin and actellik at the rate of 5 ml each per liter of water). 15 minutes after spraying, cut off the nest at the base, place it in a tight bag and tie it.

If the wasps settled on a site in the ground, then cultivate the ground with the same solution. When processing, protect your face with a three-layer gauze bandage, and your hands with rubber gloves. After the solution has been treated with the solution from the wasps, wash those parts of the body that were opened with soap and water.

Advice!
You can try to use the following drugs against wasps: Tsimbush, K * Otrin, Ambush, Orrivo, Actellik, Fufanol, Baigon, Sipaz, Karbofos. Fas smoke bombs are also suitable, but Fumitox does not take wasps! Well-proven "Gett", "Maskitol protection against wasps", "Dare", "Troapsil."

There are folk methods of fighting wasps. One of such methods is to bring a bucket filled with water to the aspen nest so that the nest is immersed in water, within 5 minutes the nest will become wet, and the wasp will die.

Using this method, you must be fully dressed, all areas of the body must be protected! As a distracting means, you can put a cup of jam nearby, then flying wasps next to you will not bother you much.

You can also treat the melon or watermelon peel with an insecticidal gel, or leave it on a compost heap. The wasp, having tasted such a treat, dies, so you can destroy a large number of wasps. However, with this method, the hornet’s nest still remains safe and sound!

Kerosene used to be a very good way to avoid wasp attacks, kerosene treated wasps died. Treated with kerosene and a hornet’s nest. But recently, wasps, apparently, have adapted to kerosene. The method does not always work!

You can make jam with water in the jars and put the jars in those places of your site where you practically never go. Wasps will move to a new place, however, this method is also not suitable for everyone.

If you are stung

If the wasp still bit you, then the bite should be given priority. Pay attention if the wasp left a sting in the bite, it doesn’t always do this, but if you are “lucky” and the sting is left, you need to remove it.

Then apply a cold to the bite site, this will relieve pain and reduce swelling. Lubricate the bite site with Prednisone (or a similar ointment) and take any antiallergic drug (Suprastin, Fenkarol, etc.).

Attention!
And yet, I want to note that wasps do not only harm their neighborhood in our suburban areas. Wasps feed their larvae with caterpillars, flies, bugs, sawfly larvae and other pests of the garden.

So if the wasps do not cause you trouble, do not sting you and do not harm the crop, then let them continue to live on your site, protecting it from pests.

Destruction of wasps

By the end of summer, many people are worried about the question - how to deal with wasps? They wind in the same place where people are - around delicious berries, food. They can leave you without a crop, and it can hurt to bite you.

Whole fruits, for example, wasp apples do not attract, but if the fruits crack, insatiable wasps attack the apple trees too!

But when wasps are busy building the nest - triggering instincts make them extremely aggressive and dangerous! And do not forget that the wasp’s sting is smooth, it doesn’t always leave it at the bite, so a wasp, unlike a bee, can sting many times.

Favorite habitats of wasps are attics of houses, roofs of verandas and sheds. The practice of burning wasp nests has proven itself well. The hosts, who were harmed by wasps in the summer, wait for colds, remove wasp nests and burn them. But this method is only effective when you know the exact location of the nest.

Important!
In the spring, also inspect the verandas and attics, remove and burn the nests found! So you can protect yourself from the neighborhood with these insects. The returning female, not finding her nest, will fly to another place. In the summer, it is much more difficult to destroy a hornet's nest.

You can do this only at night, try covering the nest with a tight bag with an insecticide embedded in it. This, however, is very dangerous for the layman, if angry insects can get out of the trap, you will not have to wait for mercy!

So the best time to fight wasps is early spring, that's when the hornet's nests need to be destroyed. Well, if the deadlines are missed and the wasps settled in your dacha? An ideal way to deal with wasps is to treat the site and the house with insect control specialists.

Household wasp control methods

A significant problem for every summer resident and vacationer are insects. Especially problematic among them are wasps and hornets, since their bites can cause significant harm to human health. In practice, there are three main ways to deal with these insects with your own hands:

  1. call a specialist;
  2. use of chemicals;
  3. folk methods.

Calling a specialist is considered one of the easiest ways to deal with wasps. Immediately after accepting the order, an employee of a company that specializes in insect control will arrive at the specified address.

On the spot, he will hold a set of measures that will get rid of annoying insects. However, due to the high cost, not everyone can afford this service, but only people with unlimited financial capabilities.

Preparations for the destruction of wasps and hornets

In practice, the second method, which involves the destruction of insects using chemical agents, is especially popular. The method of application of the drugs is very simple, it provides for thorough processing of the place of stay of wasps.

It is advisable to process not only the nest itself, but also a small area around it. This will ensure the death of the entire population, because wasps, which at the time of processing are outside the nest, will subsequently crawl into the nest, bringing microparticles of the drug there.

If the hornet’s nest is in an inaccessible place, it is enough to distribute the drug in places where they creep into the nest, after a few days the whole family will die out. The categories of the most effective drugs include:

  • “Troapsil" - a chemical product that is intended for the professional destruction of insects;
  • “Mosquito - Protection against wasps” - a drug, presented in the form of an aerosol, its spectrum of action is very wide, it is able to destroy wasps in residential premises and on the street;
  • “Ghetto” is a chemical preparation developed by modern scientists, which is capable of exterminating wasps, bedbugs, ants, cockroaches and other insects on a professional level;
  • “Dare” - a drug that is designed to destroy all types of insects (mosquitoes, fleas, wasps, ants, ticks, cockroaches, flies). The presented preparation is in the form of microcapsules that are odorless. A characteristic feature of this product is its long validity period, which exceeds 6 months.

One of the most effective means for destroying wasps and hornets is Otosi. It is designed to destroy wasp families in summer cottages, and is the only officially approved means for combating this type of insect.

Advice!
This drug does not require significant financial costs, however, in the process of its use you need to be very careful.

In its composition, “Otoshi” has several components that perform the function of bait. For effective action, the drug must be poured into a bottle and pour a small amount of water. To hang up the prepared bait in places of wasp congestion, on fences and in the yard of a summer residence. Upon contact with a solution, wasps die.

Folk remedies

You can fight wasps and hornets with folk remedies. In ancient times, people used all the means at hand that led to the death of wasps and hornets. The most effective of these include the following.

To implement this method, you must first dress in special clothing that will protect against bites, and prepare a bucket of water.

Subsequently, approaching the aspen nest, immerse it in a bucket of water, and hold for five minutes. The nest will get wet, the wasps that are inside will die, and those that fly in will fly back, because there is no nest.

Another folk remedy provides for the destruction of wasps with the help of bait. To create it, a plastic bottle is best suited. Cut the neck out of it, turn it over and insert the neck down into the cut part. Pour acidic compote into the bait.

You can fight this type of insect with the help of hot water. Pour boiling water over the nest, then fill it with earth and carefully pack. Very often, after the cleaning procedure, wasps return to their old place and build a new nest.

To avoid this, the area where the nest was located should be scrubbed well with a knife, treated with a potassium permanganate solution and hang nearby adhesive tape.

Fighting wasps

Wasps settle in the attics of summer cottages, under the roof slope or just build nests in places suitable for them. The nest is a characteristic ball shaped with honeycombs inside. Made such a nest of material, in its structure and appearance resembling paper.

Attention!
These insects with the onset of the first warm days wake up from hibernation and begin to look for a suitable place to build a nest. A female can build such a nest in just one - two days, and after a week another the first young wasps are born.

The colony is developing rapidly, and the nest is being rebuilt, increasing in size. The fight against these dangerous insects is to remove the nests, which allows you to drive away a swarm.

Adults eat sweet apples, jam, flower nectar or other sweets. Wasps are quite aggressive insects, especially if a person is close to their nest.

Sting wasps with extremely painful poison, which can lead to allergic shock. Unlike bees that have notches on the sting, the wasps have smooth, which allows them to sting over and over again.

If a wasp flies to your home, then solving this problem is not difficult. It is worth arming yourself with a newspaper and the wasp will be destroyed. But how to deal with the nest of wasps, especially if the colony is large? Here it is necessary to act with extreme caution. That will allow you to get rid of the nest without risking being stung by these aggressive insects.

These insects react extremely aggressively to any pungent odors. Therefore, we do not recommend you to use dichlorvos or similar means. You cannot poison the wasps like that, but you run the risk of being stung by an angry swarm. If you found such a nest in your country house, you should act thoughtfully and as carefully as possible.

Remove socket

Remember that these insects are most active in the summer heat. Therefore, all work must be carried out at night when they are sleeping. You just need to remove the socket by closing it in a sealed container. It can be a three-liter jar or a bucket with a lid. After a few days, all the wasps in such a closed nest will die and the problem will be solved.

You should not try to remove the nest when most of the wasps scattered in search of food. Having returned and not having found their nest, they will surely circle next, and the uterus will necessarily build a new nest.

Important!
In some cases, it is impossible to get to the nest. We can recommend you to cover it with a bag or a dense bag. First, cotton wool moistened with insecticide must be placed in the bag. Try to knock down such a bag with a stick, and keep it tightly tied for several days.

But we would recommend that you refrain from burning nests. First of all, fire can spread to wooden roofing materials, which will lead to irreparable consequences.

In addition, it is difficult to destroy all wasps with fire. Some of them will have time to scatter, and given their extreme aggressiveness and revenge, this is simply unsafe to do.

We destroy earth pests

Individual varieties of wasps build their burrows in the ground. Such minks can be located near farm buildings, directly on the beds or near the woods. If you notice such earthy insects, you must act as carefully as possible.

Wait until dusk sets in, then pour boiling water over the nest and try to drown them all in water. But you should not try to close up the notch.

These clever insects usually build underground nests with numerous exits, which makes it possible to leave the mink in various ways in case of danger.

Prevention of occurrence

These insects have the habit of returning to their old place or using other people's nests. Therefore, be sure to inspect the attic in the country house and cut all such balls with a sharp knife in early spring.

Such an inspection is best carried out in early spring, when all the insects are still sleeping in secluded places, then you can fearlessly cut such a paper ball. In addition, it is recommended to treat old places of bees dislocation with peroxide solution and potassium permanganate.

Hornet
Hornet

It is not uncommon when summer residents mistaken for wasps of extremely dangerous hornets. In color, they are similar to identical, but noticeably larger than wasps.

Remember that it is forbidden to fight hornets on your own. If you notice these large and quite aggressive insects at the dacha, you should definitely call the Ministry of Emergencies, only professionals can remove the nest.

Advice!
Hornets are extremely dangerous, they can even attack a person with a swarm. Seven bites are enough and a person can die from anaphylactic shock.

If you find these insects in the country or in your private home, you should act thoughtfully and very carefully. First of all, look at the insects themselves. If they have a size of one to two centimeters, then these are ordinary wasps and you can cope with them yourself.

But if insects, three to four centimeters in size, fly into a paper ball or into a hole, then these are hornets, then it is necessary to call specialists. In most cases, the fight against wasps is not particularly difficult, and the summer resident can independently cope with this problem.

How to deal with wasps?

In nature, less and less flowers become, where else it would be possible to collect honey and pollen. With a lack of food, the Law of Survival enters into full force. Working with bees is already becoming not so simple as in the summer.

Any interference in the life of bees is regarded as an encroachment on their winter stocks, which they seek to protect. After all, they are so needed for a good wintering of the bee family.

Due to the lack of a bribe, so-called thief bees appear who are ready to steal poorly guarded honey. Weak families that cannot protect themselves properly suffer the most.

Compound the wasp situation. They are also big lovers of food for free. Unlike thief bees that transfer honey to another apiary hive, wasps only eat the honey that the bees collected, without any benefit to the apiary as a whole.

This year there were especially many wasps. They brazenly climb into the hive, eating bee stocks. Inspecting bee families, wasps could be found even within strong families.

To protect his apiary from freeloader guests, he used a simple and, as it turned out, very effective way: he poured a small amount of syrup (the remains of peach jam) into a plastic bottle and put it open next to the evidence, which wasps like to fly into.

And I was really surprised when more than a hundred wasps got into one bottle per day. The next day they delivered 6 bottles, into which wasps also successfully came across.

Attention!
The fact is that wasps climb into a bottle, but not everyone gets out. Some succeed, but most remain in the bottle. It is not clear why the bees do not climb into the bottle too? For all the time I saw only one bee flying into a bottle. Maybe this is due to the fact that they are not so big lovers of freebies as wasps.

Syrup does not have to be fresh. You can even make the syrup a little ferment (wasps this does not stop). According to my observations, even more wasps come to a fermented syrup. Maybe they are affected by alcohol, and it becomes more difficult for them to get out of the bottle.

Wasps on a summer cottage

Sometimes it seems that insects in a yellow-black “vest” will find us everywhere. They can trap and sting in the house, especially when jam or compote is cooked, in the garden when harvesting pears, apples, raspberries or gooseberries, and even in the forest. What kind of impudent creatures are these, where do they come from and can their bites be avoided.

Almost all of the wasps bothering people belong to the so-called paper family.

They are called so because they use the real paper they “invented” millions of years before the person did the same to build the nests. For its production, wasps split wood fibers with their jaws and chew them finely with wetting sticky saliva. From the resulting mass, a nest is created.

Drying, a thin layer of "chewing gum" forms a loose wall of an aspen dwelling, similar to rough wrapping paper, you can even write on it with a soft pencil. The poor quality of this paper, of course, from a human point of view, is explained by the fact that wasps choose the softest, often rotten wood and bark for its preparation.

In the spring, the female creates several paper honeycomb cells fastened together and hangs them with the help of a paper leg from the ceiling of the chosen shelter. In each cell, the female lays one egg. She feeds hatched larvae before pupation with peculiar cutlets from caught and chewed insects.

Important!
Wasps are caught by almost everything that they can do: flies, caterpillars, beetle larvae - destroying a lot of harmful insects. Large wasps can also attack a bee, so hornet nests near apiaries are a very undesirable neighborhood.

A wasp usually kills prey with a sting, it immediately gnaws it, but does not eat it. After all, adult wasps almost do not need meat food, they feed on nectar of flowers, sweet excrement of aphids, tasty fruits, especially damaged ones - notched, cracked, wrinkled.

Are they our enemies or friends? On the one hand, they destroy a lot of pests, including flies. On the other hand, the ripe fruits of gooseberries, raspberries are cracked and spoiled, they eat up apples and annoy in the kitchen when we prepare sweets. Wasps finally can sting sensitively.

However, just like that, for no reason, they never attack. A wasp stings only in case of danger, for example, if it was stepped on or crushed by a hand, if it is shrugged off.

Wasps are particularly aggressive if they disturb their nest or just get too close to it.Therefore, attempts to destroy their buildings are extremely risky. Indeed, multiple bites of "furious" wasps can be life threatening.

Probably the most competent tactics applicable to wasps, maintaining neutrality. And no provocations!

Timely and carefully collect all ripened crops so that rotting carrion does not lie under the trees. Periodically sprinkle compost heap with vegetable waste on the ground. Make your site less attractive for wasps.

Well, if you want to wage war not for life, but for death, try the drug “From wasps”. The deadly “cure” for “pirates in vests” is dissolved in water and poured into cans or bottles that are placed at the far end of the plot. Wasps flock to feast on something that they think is delicious, and soon die. Nearly their homes are becoming smaller.

Our advice

If a wasp has bitten:

  • remove the sting with tweezers;
  • apply a lotion of 1 part ammonia and 5 parts water (vodka diluted in half with water, hydrogen peroxide or potassium permanganate);
  • cool the affected area with ice;
  • drink a glass of hot tea;
  • warm your hands and feet;
  • take an aspirin or analgin tablet or heart remedies that are at hand;
  • diphenhydramine against allergies will relieve swelling if it is very strong.

Especially dangerous are the bites of a wasp in the mouth when an insect, along with a fruit or a berry, falls over the cheek. You can die from swelling of the larynx and suffocation, and not at all due to intoxication. Therefore, be careful when you enjoy the gifts of trees and bushes in the garden. Do not bite the wasp, it will answer!

Wasps in the apiary - how to deal with them

Wasps are an inevitable evil that lies in wait for every beekeeper. And the most important task is to defeat the “enemy" as quickly and efficiently as possible, otherwise you can be left without honey, or even without the bees themselves.

Advice!
The danger of “striped pirates” is that they steal honey not only during pumping, but also in the hive itself, which threatens the safety of the uterus and brood. They are aggressive, get into a fight, harming worker bees and insect guards.

Such attacks are especially dangerous for weak families, in which the number of workers is not very large and it is difficult for them to resist attacks. Large and strong families will easily repulse, but precedents do not need to be created.

And so, the methods of opposition.

The first way is spring

The fight against wasps must begin in early spring, when the first flyby of bees takes place. Wasps also fly at this time, and more actively. They are not so afraid of temperature extremes and can freely “cruise” when your wards from the hive do not even show their nose.

At your compound, explore all the nooks where wasps can nest. These are attics, cellars, cracks in the walls of buildings, trees, hollows. If you notice the nest - immediately destroy it, and do not forget about the larvae. These are such "infections" that they can breed even outside the nest.

The next step will be to bypass the neighbors. Surely they will not mind if you help them and get rid of the dangerous neighborhood of striped snakes. Practice proves the validity of such a method. But he will not be able to give a 100% guarantee of security. Therefore, you need to watch!

Method Two - Traps

Even if the “evil in the bud” is destroyed, you and your wards cannot be completely safe. Throughout the season, carefully ensure that a large number of wasps do not appear in your apiary (wherever it stands, and especially if you take it out for honey collection).

Otherwise, the bees may not be able to cope with them or, in the process of protecting the hive from invasion, will not bring the expected amount of honey.

Attention!
To combat wasps, set traps that are very simple to make from improvised means. A plastic or glass bottle is taken with a capacity of more than 1 liter, 200-300 ml is poured into it. beer, kvass or fermented jam diluted with water. Wasps, as it turned out, are still those “drunks” and such a hoppy drink.

They crawl into a container to feast on a gadget, but they can no longer get out and drown in liquids over time.

After a while, strain the liquid, destroy the remains of wasps. And the bait can be reused.

You need to put such wonderful bottles near the hive, but not very close to the flyways. And be sure to clean when pumping out honey, as your wards can fall into such a trap.

Method Three - Limited Access

This method is especially good during the onset of cold weather (not only in the fall, but also during the summer cold days). Bees wait for such a time in the hive, and wasps fly freely, since they are more adapted to low temperatures.

It is necessary to close the notch as much as possible in such a way that only one bee passes into it. Then it will be easier for workers to cope with the attack, if any.

But what about the time for active honey collection, you ask, when bees fly very intensively and there will not be enough for such a limited passage? There is also a way out of this situation.

Experienced beekeepers advise during the period of active honey collection to also “narrow down” the letki, but in a slightly different way. In a wide open "to mount" the likeness of the tubes, into which the bee with a bribe will freely go. Your wards will enter your home easily, but the wasps "will not climb into this passion."

They, you see, are naturally claustrophobic! So they need it, at least in some ways, Mother Nature punished.

The fourth method - "point destruction"

This is perhaps the most extreme way for an beekeeper to get rid of wasps, since he himself serves as a bait.

Important!
If you notice a fairly large number of striped enemies, you can wear a mask and a bathrobe in which you go to the bees. The clothes smell like honey, wax and propolis, which will certainly attract the attention of wasps.

As soon as there will be a number of them near you, spray them with dichlorvos or another insecticide. Even in the open air, it will act and the wasps will die. Only carry out a similar “fighting procedure” away from the hives so that the bees do not suffer.

It is impossible to say that any of the methods is universal and, applying it, you will once and for all get rid of the invasion of "striped parasites". Therefore, the most correct will be the combination of all known measures.

But just remember - in no case is advertised for chemicals from wasps in the apiary. They may work, but only on all insects, including your bees.

How to deal with wasps and bees in the country

Most summer residents have neighbors who keep bees, which often bother you. The usual method is just to talk with a neighbor so that he takes action.

According to the rules, those who keep these insects should build a high fence so that the bees fly out of their nests at a high distance and do not bother you. This method has proven itself in practice.

How to protect yourself from bees?

You can protect yourself from bees by planting lemon balm or mint around the entire perimeter of the site. Their spicy smell scares away many bees, and they will fly around your garden side. In stores, you can buy the so-called bee traps, made from materials that attract insects.

Traps are hung on trees. They can be not only useful, but can also decorate your summer cottage. A delicious bait for bees, sugar or honey is placed in a trap. A bee, flying into a trap, can no longer fly out of it.

If you have a swarm of insects in your country house, then you should call a person who is engaged in beekeeping and will be able to pick up the bees for themselves.

How to get rid of wasps?

Wasps are fought with more radical methods. They are destroyed, I use all kinds of poisons, substances with which the nests are sprayed. After spraying, the nest must be cut off and placed in a bag so that all the wasps finally die. Be careful, do not forget about the remedy.

You can use the method of placing the nest in the water. After some time, all wasps will die. Using this method, you should also be careful that wasps do not harm you. The best way to combat wasps is to destroy the embryo that forms in the spring.

Advice!
When the female flies in and sees that there is no nest, she will fly away and find another place for herself, and you will ensure peace for the whole summer. If you do not observe any nests on your site, and wasps still interfere with you, then you can also take advantage of modern traps.

For example, a device with ultraviolet light and a powerful valve that attracts bees into the light and sucks it into its trap with a stream of air. They fall into the grid and cannot get out of there. The fight against wasps and bees is quite painstaking work, but very necessary for those to whom they constantly bother.

Useful Tips

The first problem that most of the summer residents who come to their favorite suburban area faces is midges, flies, mosquitoes, bees, and of course, wasps. If the hornet’s nest is located next door or directly on the site, hornet attacks cannot be avoided.

They behave this way because aggression is their innate quality. Each individual can inflict several bites. Their sting is smooth, so not every time it stays in the skin. With aspen misfortune, although difficult, but you can cope.

What wasps do

Experts advise immediately to part with the thought that wasps can coexist peacefully. These striped insects can be safely attributed to the category of enemies. A wasp swarm can easily destroy the harvest of an entire garden.

Those fruits and berries that contain at least a small part of sucrose or glucose will be affected. The smallest in size will be the first to go to hornet consumption, and then many loopholes will be done in large fruits and a real feast will be arranged inside.

In addition to fruit and berry harm, minke whales can be carriers of various diseases. Diseases can be transmitted both from a bite and from an unwashed apple, on which a wasp walked.

They carry diseases from landfills - there they find a lot of edible waste. Such a neighborhood can, at best, lead to a severe upset of the gastrointestinal tract.

Health damage caused by wasps does not end with stomach problems. In addition to terribly painful sensations after a bite, a terrible itching will appear, the bitten place will monstrously swell.

Attention!
Serious allergic reactions to wasp venom are quite common, but most people don’t even know if they have aspen intolerance. As statistics show, anaphylactic shock is also possible.

Practice shows that getting rid of wasps should be done immediately, after their first manifestations. Remember: wasps are a very hostile and aggressive insect species.

The main thing in the fight against such neighbors is to get rid of their nests. The task is difficult, but quite doable. Mostly their favorite areas for housing are attics, balconies, verandas, sheds, and so on. Wasps build their nests in the most remote, quiet and inaccessible to people places.

Hornet's nests should be destroyed completely, if possible with the greatest number of their inhabitants - if the work is not done carefully - the site owners can expect another invasion in the near future.

Experts advise conducting liquidation operations in late autumn or early spring. In the summer, such a procedure does not make sense to do during the day when residents are absent. Having returned and not having discovered their hive, they will become angry and will attack. Their elimination is best done after sunset, when the whole family will be assembled.

To prevent the appearance of hornet's nests in the attics or balconies of the house, you can treat their surface with special compounds that are sold in hardware stores. Wasps do not tolerate this smell, so they will not bother with their obsessive neighborhood.

Wasps in the country, how to get rid

When a problem of this kind arises, the first thought comes to call special services that deal with the elimination of rodents and insects. But it’s worth noting right away that this method of elimination will cost an impressive amount of money, and not every owner will find it convenient to spend some time waiting for the workers, and then drive them around the site explaining what and how.

Wasps in the house will not cause delight either, how to get rid of uninvited guests on your own? For those who decide to carry out the elimination of hornet dwellings on their own, experts give practical advice:

  1. without fail, clothes from dense matter are needed,
  2. you need to wear leather gloves on your hands,
  3. protect the face with a beekeeper’s mask,
  4. send household walks with pets.

In addition to this, certain tools will be needed:

  • ladder (if the nest is at an unattainable height),
  • spray gun
  • insect repellent,
  • a large and dense bag made of polyethylene.

There are many ways to get rid of intrusive insects. For example, you can pour a certain amount of boiling water on the nest. But no one guarantees that all individuals will die. The remaining ones will most likely take revenge and multiply further. When using oil products as an insect poison, there will be much more sense. Roy will die completely.

Important!
Also, the long-known dichlorvos will cope with the task. It must be applied both to the nest itself and to the adjacent territory. After a while, the wasps “get intoxicated”. Now they can be placed as accurately as possible in a plastic bag. Tie tightly and expel beyond the boundaries of the site. Pour a little gasoline over the bag and set fire to it.

The method of applying directly to the nest and the adjacent area of gasoline will give a positive and lasting result. Most of the individuals will die immediately, the rest will leave this place and not return.

If wasps settled under the roof, how to get rid of such uninvited guests - after all, it is not recommended to pour gas on the house. The most merciful way to get rid of wasps in this case is to use red, hot, capsicum. His bundle is simply suspended near the wasp-built housing. After a short time, the neighbors will move to another place.

The method of bait is still working well. The bait is a mixture of 1 liter of water and two equal 5 mg parts of actellic and cypermethrin. You can buy them in specialized stores. Tanks with the mixture can be placed near the aspen dwelling, or you can directly process it.

After spraying the house, you need to wait at least 15 minutes, then immerse it in a bag, transfer it to a safe place and burn it. After consulting with the sellers of hardware stores, you can choose other drugs, but basically they act a little slower. The reaction to them begins about a day after use.

A well-known option is heating in water. You will need a container of a certain size, such that a nest fits in it. The tank must be filled to the top with water.

Then transfer the container directly under the hornet’s nest, cut it off and immerse it in water. Over the next five minutes, the material from which the aspen housing is molded will be soaked. When it gets wet, insects will die.

If you are fed up with wild bees

They can settle directly on the site, in the basement or in the attic of a house or barn, in the hollow of an old tree. Insects of this type do not show special aggression towards humans. Nevertheless, some neighborhood owners do not take this neighborhood quite calmly.

There are many ways to get rid of wild bees:

  • to deal with their relocation to another place,
  • destroy insects with insecticides.

It is extremely dangerous to transfer a bee’s nest, you can resort to such actions if there is no other way. In order for insects to behave calmly, they should be fumigated with smoke.

During the time that the insects will sleep, you should have time to immerse the beehive with the nest in the bag and take it to a place remote from home. But if during this time the bees come to their senses, then they can attack their offender. If possible, a professional beekeeper should be invited to conduct such an event.

Advice!
Perhaps he will have a desire to pick up a swarm and replenish his apiary with a new family. If he does not need wild bees, he will be able to provide active support - after all, he knows how to handle insects correctly.

If a decision has been made on the physical destruction of the colony, then the bees should first be soothed with the same smoke treatment, then spray the substance toxic to the bees inside the hive, then carefully close all openings.

What measures can be taken if neighbors keep bees

Silent more problems can cause you annoying neighbor bees. Of course, no one has canceled the rules of the hostel in suburban areas, it’s enough just to talk to the owner of the apiary and explain to him that such a close proximity to biting insects does not please you.

If peace talks are unsuccessful, then you can try to build a high, no less than two-meter fence. Bees will fly over it, but their number in your yard will become insignificant.

In extreme cases, you can file a complaint with the police or the court. In no case should you attempt to poison the bees - legally, such actions are regarded as damage to other people's property and may lead to criminal proceedings, but against you.

How to get rid of folk remedies

From the name itself, it is clear that these insects settle in minks dug in the ground. At first glance, they are almost invisible, accidentally hitting such a mink or stepping on it can lead the wasps into a rage, the attack of several insects can be dangerous even for an adult.

You can destroy wasp nests by pouring them with boiling water or by injecting a powerful agent into the hole, for example, dichlorvos. Cementing of a mink with a usual building cement-sand mortar may turn out to be effective.

Attention!
Cement should be poured before dawn, when the maximum number of insects will be in the underground nest. If the colonies of earthen wasps and bees are numerous - it is not worth the risk, it is better to entrust the destruction of hornet's nests to specialists.

To prevent the possibility of settlement of new insect colonies, the following measures should be taken:

  • destroy the mink entrance to the nest,
  • spray insecticides into the surrounding area,
  • for insects that may return to their original habitat, you can hang a piece of adhesive tape.

What to do if you have already been bitten

When the fact of the bite took place, the first thing to do: carefully examine the wound, if there is a sting in it, be sure to remove it. Next, you need to reduce swelling and reduce pain. Any kind of cold will do just fine with this.

What to use next - everyone chooses. Basically, the choice depends on what is at hand. For example, in a summer cottage it will not be difficult to find parsley (you need to rinse it and grate it a little with your fingers in order to start giving your juice away), onion (it’s enough to cut the onion in half and attach to the wound), garlic (everything is exactly the same as with onion )

If there is a first-aid kit in the country and any ointment containing prednisone is in it, you can spread swollen skin and a bite on it.

Lotions from the following solutions will be effective:

  1. ammonia with water, in a ratio of 1: 5
  2. soda with water, in the proportion of 1 hour spoon to half a glass of liquid.

To reduce the risk of complex allergic reactions, you need to take a tablet of diazolin, loratadine or suprastin. It is necessary to take special measures in the form of an ambulance call if the bitten manifest the following manifestations:

  • bronchospasm
  • cramps
  • swelling on the face
  • rapid pulse
  • heart palpitations
  • discomfort in the joints and lower back.
