In this case, it is worth considering the mobility of the spine of the animal. If we are talking about cats, the withers and the point between the shoulder blades will be priority areas.

Dogs have less mobile joints of the vertebrae, so all of the above will do.

Otherwise, the effect of the drug will be ineffective. Since the number of parasites will be replenished by accidentally caught fresh individuals.

Also, this will jeopardize all pets that do not get onto the street on their own, but come in contact with such an animal. This is especially true for puppies and kittens. These are creatures most vulnerable to parasite attacks. They cannot be processed often.

The second stage is characterized by convulsive syndrome and increased tone. These symptoms occur in the absence of effective medical care after a few hours after poisoning.

A person complains of intense sweating, hypersalivation, blurred vision, weakness, difficulty breathing. There are also painful urges to urinate.

If untreated, this condition can go into a stupor or stupor, with a subsequent transition to a coma.

At the same time, the pupils stop responding to light, the tone of the skeletal muscles increases, stiffness of the chest is noted, which significantly restricts respiratory movements. In this case, moist rales are clearly audible in the lungs, and the patient is choked with saliva.

In the second stage, twitching of the facial muscles occurs, which then go to the shoulders, arms, etc., blood pressure rises to a critical level of 250 mm Hg. Art. After this, collapse may occur.

If the first signs of poisoning appear, it is necessary to provide the person with first aid and call an ambulance immediately. First aid measures:

  • move the victim away from the poisoning zone;
  • take off the clothes;
  • remove the product from the skin by wiping it with soda or ammonia.

A person providing first-aid care must take care of protecting his skin and mucous membranes. After the above measures, it is necessary to hospitalize the victim. In a hospital, a gastric lavage is done and an antidote is administered.

In order to use this insecticide for the treatment of sheep in the case of psoroptosis or melphagosis, as well as for the prevention of these conditions, a 0.025% emulsion is used.

Diazinon is practically insoluble in water, therefore, it can effectively combat such soil-borne pests as wireworm, cabbage and onion flies, weevils, biting scoop, aphid, flea.In addition, it has an acaricidal effect, i.e. effective against arachnid pests - ticks.

“Bison”, “Golden Spark”, “Commander”, “Confidor”, “Corado”, “Monsoon”, “Tanrek”. All are based on the active ingredient imidacloprid - a systemic insecticide that can spread through plant cells. The drug is easily absorbed by plants, works well systemically through the roots.

It shows high residual activity. Imidacloprid has gained particular popularity because of its effectiveness against the Colorado potato beetle. It is also used to combat sucking insects: aphids, cicadas, delphacids, thrips, whiteflies, weevils. Not effective against nematodes and spider mites.

Imidacloprid is a highly toxic substance, very dangerous for mammals, birds, fish, earthworms, as well as for humans. The period of its decomposition in the soil from six months to two years. For summer residents and gardeners, it is allowed on a limited number of crops. The drug "Actara" also belongs to the same group.

The active substance is with a different name, but of the same chemical group. It works especially well against scale insects, aphids, ticks, and the Colorado potato beetle. Recommended for processing roses and ornamental shrubs.

Iskra M, Karbofos, Fenaksin-Plus, Fufanon, Inta-TsM. They are made on the basis of malathion - a non-systemic insecticide and acaricide with a wide spectrum of action.

It is used to control harmful insects and ticks in many agricultural crops: on fruit crops against ticks, aphids, leaf flies, tinnits, apple moths and others, on the buttocks against the yellow gooseberry sawfly, aphids, in the vineyards against the grape mealybug, on citrus against most pests that damage these crops: citrus whitefly, worms, red citrus tick and others.

Highly effective against a large number of pests of vegetable crops (ticks, aphids, thrips, leaf-eating caterpillars), on cucumbers and tomatoes in greenhouses and greenhouses.

To date, no serious signs of resistance of harmful insects to the action of malathion have been identified! Actellic also belongs to the same group - a broad-spectrum preparation, recommended, including for indoor use.

Inta-TsM, Iskra, Kinmiks, Fastak, Tsunami, Lightning, Senpai. The active substances in these drugs are different, but all belong to a single chemical group of pyrethroids.

These are non-systemic substances for combating a wide range of chewing and sucking insects, especially butterflies, potato cow, Colorado potato beetle. Are allowed for use by summer residents and gardeners in many vegetable, fruit, berry and decorative crops.

They have good residual activity with minimal negative impact on environmental objects, easily decompose in soil and plants.

The decay period in the soil is about 20 days. A distinctive feature of many pyrethroids is their cost-effectiveness, due to the low required concentration during processing.

Many pyrethroids are highly toxic to fish, aquatic organisms, and bees.For humans, pyrethroids are a relative danger, so some of them are used in everyday life to fight cockroaches, mosquitoes, flies, bedbugs, fleas, domestic ants, etc.

“Fitoverm”, “Akarin”, “Iskra-Bio”, “Lepidocide”, “Bitoxibacillin”. A group of biological preparations based on various microorganisms and products of fermentation of soil bacteria.

Biological products act only through the intestinal system of pests, and they actively eat when warm and humid. The toxicity of biological products should not be underestimated; at high concentrations, they are very dangerous for humans and animals.

Now we can draw conclusions. The onset of the Colorado potato beetle in Primorye forces summer residents to use potent systemic drugs.

Advertising calls: “One treatment per season and no problems with the harvest!” But few people are trying to compare the degree of danger of certain drugs. We recommend that you use systemic drugs with extreme caution.

When using non-systemic drugs against the Colorado potato beetle and potato ladybug, you will have to do 3-4 treatments per season, but the price of these efforts is your health!

I would especially like to highlight the preparations Inta-TsM and Iskra, which are quite safe insecticides with a very wide range of use due to a double set of compatible active substances of a different nature. Their low price is due to the economical mechanism of action, due to high efficiency at low concentrations!

As regards the processing of trees and shrubs, non-systemic preparations should be definitely used here, preferably based on malathion, for example, Fufanon. In indoor floriculture, Actellik and Fitoverm are acceptable. You will find all these drugs in garden shops of our region.

The specificity of the properties of diazinon as a drug from ants

Recently, there has been a need to suppress the number of ants living in household plots, including on beds, lawns, under trees and shrubs, in greenhouses, in front gardens, on terraces, etc.

In addition to the natural inconvenience associated with the movement and bites of these insects, ants can harm cultivated plants, fruit and ornamental trees.

All species of ants play a protective role in relation to aphids from predators and, thus, contribute to the maintenance of large populations of aphids that damage agricultural and ornamental crops. By locating their nests in the walls of buildings, ants contribute to their destruction.

Moving on the beds and on the surface of plants, ants can transmit fungal and bacterial infections that cause diseases of vegetables and ornamental crops and reduce yield and product quality.

Of the many plant protection methods, the chemical method is of greatest importance - the use of chemical compounds that destroy harmful organisms. The chemical method is also effective for protecting various materials and products from them from biological damage.

Recently, pesticides have been widely used in the fight against various pests.

Pesticides (lat. Pestis - infection and lat. Caedo - kill) - chemicals used to fight pests.

Diazinon, the properties studied in this work, belongs to the class of insecticides. Insecticides in the form of powders, liquids, emulsions, suspensions, aerosols are used.

Depending on the nature of the effect on harmful insects, insecticides are divided into 4 groups: intestinal enter the body through the mouth and intestines of the insect; contact - through its outer covers; respiratory (fumigants) - through the respiratory tract.

But the most effective are systemic, or systemic, insecticides. They are absorbed by the roots and leaves of plants along with nutrients, and the plant itself becomes poisonous to insects.

The aim of this work was to study the influence of anthropogenic factors on the properties of diazinon (as a drug from ants):

  • diazinon dissociation with time;
  • the influence of salts of heavy metals contained in the soil;
  • the formation of complex compounds with these metals.

Insecticides (from Lat. Insectum - insect and caedo - kill) - a class of pesticides designed to combat harmful insects. These insect repellents are used to destroy the pests themselves, their eggs (the group of drugs is called ovicides) and the larvae (the group of drugs is called larvicides).

Organophosphorus compounds also act on trypsin, human liver esterase, milk lipase, etc. The selective effect of organophosphorus preparations on insects is usually more pronounced than on chlorinated hydrocarbons.

With the introduction of organophosphorus insecticides into practice, it has been suggested that arthropod resistance to drugs of this kind will not increase.

However, this was not confirmed, but the resistance to organophosphorus preparations is not as high as to chlorinated hydrocarbons, and it is produced more slowly.

For plant pests, diazinon is moderately toxic, but it is an effective means of controlling flies indoors, in particular in livestock yards. The drugs are effective in controlling houseflies that are resistant to DDT. It is tested as a means of combating gadfly.

The decomposition of the heterocyclic part of the molecule proceeds much more slowly in different objects and can proceed in different directions. In the body of animals, in most cases, water-soluble compounds are obtained, which are relatively rapidly excreted in urine and feces.

Physical and chemical properties

Like other organophosphorus insecticides, diazinon acts on cholinesterase - an enzyme that is a transmitter of a nerve impulse. Binding of cholinesterase occurs, as a result, it loses its activity and cannot cause the hydrolysis of acetylcholine.

If cholinesterase is blocked by a pesticide, then free acetylcholine accumulates in the synaltic fissure, the normal passage of nerve impulses is disturbed, tremor occurs (muscle cramping), which turns into paralysis.

Resistance With the systematic treatment of crops with preparations based on diazinon, group resistance of certain types of insect pests appears to it.

Application

Phytotoxicity. When processing plants during the growing season, preparations based on diazinon are non-phytotoxic, however, treatment of seeds and roots can lead to inhibition of plants.

Currently, diazinone-based preparations are approved for use against gnawing and sucking pests of sugar beets (weevils, fleas, aphids, biting scoops), wheat (ground beetle), alfalfa (weevils, bugs), corn (wireworms), cotton (gnawing) scoops, aphids), cabbage (cabbage flies), ants, etc.

Drugs are used by spraying the crops (liquid formulations) or by applying to the soil or to the surface of the soil. When applied to the soil, the goal is to protect plants from soil pests.

Diazinone introduced into the soil is well absorbed by the root system of crops and enters the seedlings of plants, protecting them from pests in the first two to three weeks.

This property of diazinon is very important, since in the modern assortment of pesticides there are no other insecticides with such an effect.

The half-life of diazinon in the soil is 2-3 weeks, but after the introduction of granular forms, it is found in small quantities and after 14 weeks.

In a personal household. For use in personal household plots, preparations in the form of granules against pests of vegetable and flower crops, strawberries, potatoes and onions (bears, ants, onion and cabbage flies, wireworms, furrowed weevils, etc.) were registered.

To protect indoor plants. Preparations based on diazinon are used to protect potted flower plants and seedlings of vegetable and flower crops against soil flies and mushroom mosquitoes.

Toxicological properties and characteristics

Diazinon is dangerous as highly toxic during use and within 20 days after it. During this time, it detoxifies, toxic residues in the crop do not accumulate. Pesticide does not circulate in the environment.

Toxic effect.Diazinon is a substance acting on cholinesterase. The active substance penetrates the skin. Properties of accumulation in the body are poorly expressed. In dogs that received 6.5 mg / kg of diazinone daily (as a 25% wettable powder), no change was observed.

Cholinesterase activity decreased only slightly. With a daily intake of 9.3 mg / kg of diazinon, a toxic effect of the drug was associated with a strong suppression of cholinesterase activity.

Diazinone poisoning can be treated with atropine or a combination of atropine and PAM. Initial symptoms of organophosphate poisoning include abdominal pain, blurred vision. Symptoms of a moderate degree include heaviness in the body and insomnia.

If the substance gets on the skin, it is necessary to remove it with a cotton swab moistened with 5 - 10% alcohol or 2% chloraline, and then rinse with water; in case of contact with eyes - they are washed and instilled with atropine or similar drugs; if it enters the stomach, they drink several glasses of warm water or a 2% solution of soda and cause vomiting, take activated charcoal and saline laxative; in severe poisoning - do subcutaneous injections with atropine or similar drugs that remove the substance from the enzyme.

Hazard classes. Diazinone-based emulsion concentrates belong to the second and third, granular preparations - to the third class of danger to humans. Emulsion concentrates are dangerous for bees within three to four days after spraying plants, granular preparations are not dangerous for bees and ethnophages living on plants.

This property is advantageous, it eliminates airborne and reduces (not always) water drift of drugs, reduces their contact with humans and agricultural products.

Getting

Diazinone is prepared by reacting 2-isopropyl-4-methyl-6-hydroxypyrimidine with diethylchlorothiophosphate in the presence of hydrogen chloride acceptors.

The substance discovered was Gisin (Geygi). This was preceded by forforylation of enolizable esters (acetoacetic ester) and ketones (acetylacetone) by Schrader and Lorentz in 1944. In 1950 - 1952

Gisen obtained heterocyclic enolic compounds by condensation from β-ketocarboxylic acid ester, and then they were transferred to dimethylcarbamic acid esters. After this, the obtained enols were phosphorylated.

The most interesting enol compound was the condensation product of acetoacetic ester and isobutyramidine (2-isopropyl-4-methyl-6-hydroxypyrimidine). Its phosphorylation of O, O by diethylchlorothiophosphate leads to the active principle of diazinon.

Diazinon is considered to be the most effective insecticide for ant control, but ant control, where it becomes necessary, is complicated by the fact that these insects, being social, have a complex spatial and ethological structure of the population and therefore direct suppression of their numbers by contact with insecticidal preparations difficult.

Upon contact with insecticides, only that part of the inhabitants of the colony that underwent this contact dies. Pretty quickly, the population is recovering.

To combat domestic ants, the method of continuous or selective processing of habitats and movement of insects by contact insecticides is used or poisoned baits are used.

When using the continuous treatment method with such preparations based on diazinon, only that part of the colony that underwent treatment or had contact with the drug along the routes of death perishes.

In domestic ants, the anthill with the female producers living in it is located outside the reach of contact insecticides. As a result, the numbers of the latter are rapidly recovering.

Therefore, to combat ants, containers with food bait are often used, which are installed in places of their greatest congestion or intense movement.

Working individuals of ants take out the poisoned bait from the container and transfer it to the nests. As a result of the exchange of food between ants, females laying eggs, and after a while the whole family die.

For convenience, scientists have created drugs that combine an insecticide with a food bait.

The experimental technique

For research, the following preparations were chosen: Thunder (includes a food bait) and Anteater.

The name of the drug "Thunder" is registered as a trademark, certificate 177876; containing diazinon as an active substance in an amount of 0.5-5% ,; as a food component, a mixture of bran of cereals and bone or fish meal with or without vegetable oil, benzoic acid 1-3% is used as a preservative.

The preparation also contains kaolin and 1-3% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose. This drug is protected by RF patent 2129367.

The drug "Anteater" composition: diazinon, solvent, emulsifiers. To determine the stability of the insecticide, its hydrolytic cleavage was carried out:

  • dissociation with time;
  • In the presence of heavy metal ions - nickel.

In the process of hydrolysis, it decomposes into phosphates. The amount of phosphates characterizes the degree of complete decomposition of the insecticide. This approach makes it possible to assess the rate of decomposition of the insecticide.

The amount of decomposed insecticide was determined by the phosphate content. According to the data obtained, graphs of the dependence of the amounts of decaying insecticide over time are constructed.

The hydrolysis of the insecticide sample was carried out for 28 days.

In the course of the work, it was found that in the preparations “Thunder” and “Anteater” the dissociation of diazinon occurs with a different degree of decomposition. The results of the experiment are presented in the table.

It has been established that during the interaction of insecticides with heavy metal ions, durable complexes are formed. This leads to the fact that insecticides become more resistant.

With the formation of the complex, the amount of destructible drug decreases. This means that when it enters the soil, the insecticide can form stable compounds with heavy metal ions that will accumulate in soil, rivers, and subsequently in organisms.

It was found that the drug Thunder (which includes a food bait) is more effective and less harmful to the environment (as it dissociates into harmless products faster) than Anteater.
