butox for processing an apartment
Butox for processing an apartment

Hello! My cousin recently called me and offered to buy a dog from her.

I immediately asked about the reason for the sale. It turned out that the dog wound up fleas and gradually began to spread throughout the apartment.

Well, she advised her sister not to rush into such radical actions. Moreover, I had a ready-made solution for her problem. She told her about Butoks for processing apartments. The tool proved to be extremely effective in practice, so I hasten to share the details with you.

Butox instructions for use

Butox is an effective drug for the destruction of exoparasites in animals, which has an excellent damaging effect on fleas, ticks and subcutaneous larvae. With its help, the treatment and prevention of a number of diseases and the fight against insects are carried out, such as:

  • mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches, rats, bugs, lice-eaters;
  • ticks: ixodid, nightmarish, scabies and chicken;
  • tapeworm larvae (Tape worm);
  • fleas and their larvae and eggs (Flea Lavrae, Flea eggs, Adult Flea);
  • otocariasis or winged ticks (Ear Mite); - sarcoptosis or scabies mites (Sarcoptic Mange);
  • ticks of other species;
  • heart worms.

For processing an animal, one ampule is used. The substance is absorbed into the skin and excreted through the intestines, resulting in a systemic effect on the body and an effective fight against a number of parasites. Despite the low price of Butox 50, this is one of the most effective means of combating ticks, fleas and lice in animals.

Active ingredient and principle of action

As the main active ingredient of Butox, deltamethrin is used. This is a highly effective pyrethroid insecticide used in agriculture. Like most isomers of this group, the action of deltamethrin is based on the activity of chrysanthemum acid, the free radicals in the formula are bromine atoms.

Important!
In its technical form, deltamethrin is insoluble in water, therefore, in the household it is used ready-made in Butox ampoules of 1 ml each, the contents of which are diluted in 3-4 liters of water and are used for processing rooms and animals.

Method of penetration and digestibility - contact and intestinal pesticide. Butox is used only for external use, recommended doses do not cause allergies. The substance is widely used in the agricultural sector, in the household and in medicine to combat a number of parasites, harmful and synanthropic species of insects.

The formula of deltamethrin contains only 1 isomer, which has a strong insecticidal effect.To create the drug, the one that has the strongest insecticidal effect of the 8 existing isomers is selected.

All pyrethroids have a destructive effect on the nervous system of the insect, disrupting the metabolism of calcium in synapses, and act on potassium-sodium channels, disrupting the metabolism of acetylcholine. As a result of strong excitation of the nervous system, exoparasites die, and the protective effect of the active substance lasts about 15 days.

Butoflin, splender, decamethrin and others belong to the analog preparations of deltamethrin contained in Butox. Preparations are used for spraying agricultural crops and pest control.

For warm-blooded representatives of the animal world, including humans, deltamethrin and Butox are moderately toxic substances. It is not used near apiaries, the residues do not spill into open ground near water bodies due to the high toxicity of isomers for fish.

The drug Butox 50. Butox 50 is a packaging of 1 ml Butox solution in ampoules (5 pieces). The treatment of the animal is carried out in a comfortable environment, preferably in the warm, but not hot season. Dogs and cats should be healthy and not weakened. For treatment to control fleas, one ampoule is dissolved in 3-4 liters of water.

It makes sense to carry out the procedure in air or in a well-ventilated area, it is better to do this in a mask and with eye protection.

Instructions for use

Butox instructions for use are well-tested in practice recommendations that allow you to achieve the desired treatment effect. Butox 50 in the form of a single dose dissolved in water is used completely on one animal, spraying it onto the wool from a spray bottle and avoiding the eye area.

Advice!
The animal's face is gently lubricated with a cotton swab. After this, it is recommended that the pet is allowed to dry and put on a protective cover to avoid licking Butox for 3 days. After treatment, the product is not washed off, its effective effect is manifested for at least 15 days.

After this period, in case of severe tick damage, the treatment is recommended to be repeated. With severe damage to certain parts of the body, they are first lubricated with plenty of Butoks aqueous solution, and then the pet's hair is abundantly sprayed.

When carrying out the procedure in the air, be careful not to spray against the wind. In case of skin contact, it is recommended to wash off the product with soap. Keep in mind that Butox has a pungent and unpleasant odor.

Dosage

Butox instruction contains the following recommendations. Please note that the concentration of the solution for combating fleas, lice and ixodid ticks is different. For the treatment of ticks, a solution of 1 ml Butox in 1.3 l of water is used.

For the treatment of scabies - Butox solution 1 ml per 1 liter of water, lubricate the affected areas. Treatment until symptoms disappear once a week.

Room processing

Please note that for Butox 50, the instruction contains data on the processing of premises for the purpose of cleaning insects. 1 ml is generally diluted in 1.5 liters of water, the product is sprayed, and the room is well ventilated after a 2-3 hour treatment with a closed window.

The ready-made solution is sprayed heavily with contaminated areas of the room. The drug leaves no residue on furniture and textiles, the smell disappears completely after a few hours.

Butox is widely used for the processing of corrals, nightmares and chicken coops. The drug effectively kills all flying and crawling arthropods, as well as others, including ants, bedbugs, poohoedov, flour Khrushchakov. The consumption rate of the product depends on the type of surface.

On average, the following formula is used for crawling insects: 30 ml per 10 liters of water is needed per 100 m2. Butox is also sold packaged in 1 liter cans.

Work is best done in a respirator, gloves and a face mask (ideally in a gas mask).After processing in the room for at least a week, wet cleaning is not carried out. In addition, it is necessary to treat all animals that are not allowed into the pen until the surface has completely dried.

General recommendations

Butoks50 is a highly effective means of combating exoparasites and in some cases can have a sanitizing effect on a number of pathogens, due to its pesticidal effect.

Important!
When buying Butox 50 preparations in ampoules, the instructions for it contain a detailed description of the procedure for processing your pet. It is not complicated, but requires some precautions.

A key feature of Butox is its low price, as a rule, in veterinary pharmacies you can buy a drug in the form of a single ampoule. Its cost is much lower than other “pipette” drugs that are used for processing, and its effectiveness is much higher.

Also for Butox 50, the instructions for use contain information about the treatment of tick-borne lesions of animals. Moreover, the treatment of your pet will cost a minimal amount, the effectiveness will be very high, and toxicity low.

Despite the fact that few pet owners know about this quality of Butox, it is a highly effective drug for a number of diseases. It is distinguished by low toxicity, price and high efficiency in the fight against a number of parasitoses in animals.

In some cases, subject to safety rules, it can be used to treat a person, under the supervision of a doctor.

For example, for complex scabies, mite lesions of the scalp. Processing is carried out 1 time in 7-10 days, without violating the dosage.

The use of the drug Butox

"Butox" is a drug designed to destroy most types of parasitic insects that settle on domestic animals.

This tool has the following features:

  • Pyrethroiddeltamethrin is one of the main components that make up Butox, and it ensures its effectiveness.
  • Each liter of concentrated preparation contains about 50 mg of deltamethrin.
  • Outwardly, it is a liquid with an oily structure, which has a light yellowish tint.
  • It mixes well and dissolves in ordinary water.
  • It has a specific and not quite pleasant smell, although it is rather weak.
  • The product is intended for external treatment only, ingestion is unacceptable.

Appointment

“Butoks” has become widespread, and its popularity is largely due to the combined combination of a high degree of efficiency, versatility and low cost.

The main purposes of the tool are:

  • Outdoor processing of virtually all types of domestic animals, including fur varieties.
  • Processing of residential apartments or houses, as well as premises in which the keeping of farm animals is carried out.
  • Destruction of virtually all varieties of fleas and ticks, flies, flying bloodsucking insects, bugs and parasites of a different type.

Instructions for use

Solution preparation. “Butox” is sold in ampoules that contain a concentrated product, so it should be enough for a fairly long time.

However, this drug is not a drop for treating animals, so before using it, you will first need to prepare it by making a special solution.

This process is carried out as follows:

  1. Preparation of an aqueous emulsion, for this one Butoks ampoule, the volume of which is usually 1 ml, must be diluted in 4 liters of water.
  2. Determine the necessary dosage of the product, since depending on the purpose of use and the type of parasite, the concentration of the working substance may vary.
  3. The solution should be prepared immediately before use, under no circumstances and terms it is not allowed to store the product already diluted in water.

Animal processing. For external treatment of the skin or coat of animals, the following rules should be followed:

An animal can be sprayed with a solution from a spray bottle or prepared for swimming using this product. The second option is more effective in the destruction of existing parasites.

Attention!
If the treatment is carried out exclusively for the prevention or for the destruction of ticks, then the concentration of the solution must be increased. In the spring and autumn months, which are potentially dangerous, regular treatment of animals is necessary, it can be carried out every week.

For treatment of animal scabies, one treatment is not enough, several procedures will be required, there must be a week break between them.

If for some reason bathing is not possible, then the spraying method is used, while starting treatment from head to tail. Paws are the last to be processed.

During any procedure, it is necessary to avoid getting the drug in the digestive system or on the mucous membranes of the animal. It is for this reason that it is necessary to ensure that “Butox” is not mucous from the wool after processing.

After the procedure, the animal must be isolated for some time from any other pets. Within three days after the treatment, it is not allowed to enter into direct contact with the animal, including stroking it.

Within five days after the treatment, it is unacceptable to send the animal to slaughter, if we are talking about agricultural breeds. However, even before the indicated period, its meat can be used to feed various carnivores and carnivores.

Shorthair breeds or animals with a complete lack of wool should be treated with a sponge. Also in this case, it is not necessary to apply the drug throughout the body of the pet, it will be enough to subject only certain affected areas to treatment.

Room processing

With the help of Butoks, it is also possible to disinfect the premises, such a measure will have a double effect, since it will not only help get rid of parasites, but also destroy the ants, flies, cockroaches and other insects that live in the treated area.

This process has the following features:

  • Depending on the variety of parasites, you will need to use 15-30 ml. Butox, which are bred in 10 liters of ordinary water.
  • When processing rooms with surfaces with a smooth structure, you can do 5 liters of the drug for every 100 square meters.
  • When processing rooms whose surfaces have a porous structure, the amount of funds doubles.
  • Precautions must be observed that exclude the product from getting on the skin, mucous membranes or inhaling its fumes.

Dosage. Particular attention must be paid to the dosage, since it can be changed depending on a number of circumstances corresponding to each specific situation.

So, when bathing an animal, you must be guided by the following rules:

  • When treating an animal for fleas or water-eaters, one Butoks ampoule will need to be dissolved in 3-4 liters of water.
  • During various preventive measures, as well as for the destruction of ticks, one ampoule is diluted in 1-1.5 liters of water.
  • In the treatment of scabies, one ampoule is dissolved in a liter of water.

If you refuse to bathe and use the option with spraying, the following doses are considered safe:

  1. 25 ml Butox per liter of water to kill lice.
  2. 5 ml "Butox" per liter of water to destroy different types of fleas.
  3. 1 ml "Butox" per liter of water for the treatment of scabies.

If the product is used to treat the room, and not the animal, then its dosage also continues to depend on the variety of insects that are supposed to be destroyed:

  • 15 ml Butoks is bred in 10 liters of water to destroy any species of flying insects.
  • 30 ml "Butoksa" is bred in 10 liters of water, if the fight against crawling species of parasites.

The consumption of the drug should be 5 or 10 liters per 100 square meters of a smooth or porous surface, respectively.

The effectiveness and action of the drug

Despite the fact that many people are often alarmed by the too low cost of this tool, it managed to prove itself on the positive side, proving once again its high level of effectiveness.

Important!
The principle of the drug is based on the following processes caused by it. When processing an animal, the absorption of the active substance is carried out through the skin, the output through the intestines. If the prescribed dosages are observed, then there are no side effects and allergic reactions.

Deltamethrin, despite the fact that it has a rather complicated chemical formula, includes only one isomer capable of exerting an insecticidal effect. Upon contact with the parasite, it begins the process of destruction of the insect's nervous system, first of all, a failure occurs in the metabolic processes associated with acetylcholine and potassium.

As a result of this effect on the body and a number of systems, the insect experiences nervous excitement, which leads to its death.

The active ingredient is a long-excreted substance, therefore, the protective effect of different types of parasites persists for several weeks after the treatment of animals.

Compatibility. “Butox” was not tested for compatibility with most other antiparasitic drugs, so the combined use of several drugs at the same time is not recommended, moreover, the effectiveness of this insecticide is quite enough for the qualitative destruction of insects.

Considering the fact that deltamethrin is part of it, Butox is definitely incompatible with the following elements:

  • Oxidizing agents.
  • Substances belonging to the halogen group.
  • Insecticides based on organic phosphorus compounds.

Hazard Class and Precautions

In accordance with GOST, “Butoks” refers to the third hazard class, that is, to moderately hazardous substances that can cause an allergic reaction if the dosage is not metered, and poisoning if they enter the body, but do not pose the same danger to warm-blooded creatures as for insects.

Advice!
When using this medication, the following precautions should be observed.Before using the product, it is mandatory to carefully read the instructions for use.

When using the product, it is necessary to use protective clothing, which, among other things, includes goggles, a hat, a respiratory mask and disposable rubber gloves. It is best to wear those things that will not be a pity to throw away later.

After completion of the treatment, it is necessary to wash thoroughly with soap all exposed areas of the body.

If it gets on the mucous membranes or inside the body, it is urgent to rinse them with a significant amount of water. If these measures did not help, and an allergic reaction occurred or any side effects showed up, you should immediately seek emergency medical help.

Empty containers from under Butox, as well as unused balances of the product, are subject to mandatory disinfection. This procedure is carried out by settling in a prepared solution of soda ash for at least 6 hours, after which the container must be washed with clean water.

The containers in which the product was located are not allowed to be used in the future for domestic or any other purposes, even if they were thoroughly decontaminated.

Prices

“Butoks” is sold individually in ampoules, boxes with a different number of ampoules, as well as in bottles of various sizes.

The most common are two types of packaging, the approximate cost of them is:

  • An ampoule for single use costs from 5 to 15 rubles.
  • A box with 5 ampoules costs about 90 rubles.

You can buy the drug in departments with household chemicals or in various specialized stores with veterinary products.

It is not actually realized through the Internet tool, since the cost of delivery is often many times higher than the price of an ampoule or package.

Reviews

Many people have already managed to use the tool to destroy various types of parasites, below are their impressions of the result and effectiveness of the drug:

Attention!
Vyacheslav: “My family and I live in the village, we usually keep a large number of animals, so Butox has become one of the main assistants in the household. For the first time I tried to use it, because it was possible to process with this tool not only cats and dogs, but also sheep, cows and other animals that live with us.

Thanks to this, it was possible to remove not only all parasites, but now even flies with horseflies do not fly close to domestic cattle. I think that “Butoks” would be effective for the extermination of cockroaches and other domestic insects, but we do not have them to check. ”

Oksana: “I started using Butox after the veterinarian advised him. I have a St. Bernard, which other flea remedies do not help, and anti-parasitic drops that need to be applied to the withers cause a severe allergic reaction.

There are no such side effects from Butox, it helped to quickly remove insects, now we use it as a prophylactic once a month, because we are often in nature, where there is always a risk of catching a tick. ”

Michael: “A drug called“ Butox ”was recommended to me by a friend, I didn’t want to use it for a long time, because the price was too embarrassing. One day, after all, I decided to check it in action when my shepherd got fleas.

The tool did a good job of quickly destroying them. Now in spring and autumn we use it weekly as a preventive measure. It turns out that, unlike expensive analogues, the effect lasts one week, and not one and a half to two months, but Butoks has a significant advantage.

It consists in the fact that fleas after processing died instantly, that is, they did not have time to scatter throughout the apartment.

Of the shortcomings of the drug, I can only distinguish a rather strong and pungent odor, although the instructions said that it was not particularly felt.After bathing the dog another 15-20 minutes have to ventilate the premises to get rid of it.

Important!
Given this feature of Butoks, I did not dare to use it to process the apartment, although the instructions stated that it was the recommended measure to destroy the remaining insects and their larvae. ”

Yuliya: “A good and effective drug at an affordable price. Of the shortcomings, one can distinguish only a strong and at the same time extremely unpleasant smell, but the result is worth it. I use it to treat cats that are very sensitive to many products, but Butox does not contain any components that are dangerous to them.

Before the counties in the country, I use a solution to treat the entire apartment in just a few days, the smell manages to completely disappear, but the house has protection against parasites, and ants and cockroaches completely disappear. ”

Butox-50 (AgroZooWet O.L.KAR.)

Emulsifying concentrate contains 5% synthetic deltamethrin pyrethroid. In appearance, it is an oily liquid of light yellow color, well emulsifiable in water, with a slight specific smell.

1 g of concentrate contains 50 g of deltamethrin. Packed in ampoules of 1 ml.

Pharmacological properties

Butox 50 has a wide spectrum of insect-acaricidal action, is active against ixodid, scabies, chicken, nightmare ticks, flies, midges, bugs and other ectoparasites of animals.

Entering the body of arthropod deltamethrin contact or enteral, it accumulates in the ganglia of peripheral nerves and inhibits their activity. Violates the coordination of the pathogen, then causing paralysis, lethargy and death.

The drug is moderately toxic for warm-blooded animals, in the recommended doses and concentrations it does not have a locally irritating and allergenic effect. Effective against ectoparasites resistant to phosphorus and organochlorine compounds. Toxic to fish and bees.

INDICATIONS: For the control of ectoparasites of animals (ixodid, scabies mites, lice, lice-eaters, flies, horseflies, bedbugs, midges and others).

Doses and method of application

Butox 50 is used only for outdoor processing of animals and premises. Immediately before use, an aqueous working emulsion of the preparation is prepared. The animals are treated by spraying or bathing.

Advice!
Bathing animals. Before carrying out mass treatments, each batch of Butox 50 is preliminarily tested on a small group of animals (10–15 animals) of different fatness and age, which are monitored for 2–3 days. In the absence of complications, they begin to process the entire animal population.

After cleaning the bathtub for bathing, make a preliminary mixture of the required amount of Butox 50 (in accordance with the dosage for bathing). Distribute the solution throughout the volume of the container, then mix for 10 minutes.

To get a perfect emulsion, you must first pass 20 animals - mixers through the tank. After the animals take out from the bath 10% of the total volume of the working fluid, it is supplemented to the initial level.

At the same time, 0.9 L of Butox 50 is added to each ton of added water. It is ensured that the first 20 animals re-wash during the bathing course. Before processing, animals should not be tired and should not be thirsty.

It is not recommended to conduct treatment in very hot weather. After processing 2.5 to 3 thousand sheep, the acaricidal liquid is poured into sludge wells, preventing it from entering water bodies or rivers. The bath is thoroughly cleaned of dirt and washed with water, which is also drained into the sump wells.

Spraying animals. Before using Butox 50, it is necessary to make a preliminary mixture in 1 liter of water, add it to the required amount of water in the spray tank and mix thoroughly.

During each course of treatment, a minimum of 3 liters of diluted product per animal must be used.The sequence of spraying the animal: auricles, head, body, tail, the area around the anus, limbs. Particular attention must be paid to the affected areas. Do not flush the drug. It is not recommended to spray against the wind.

Dosage:

The amount of Butox 50 per 100 liters of water
The amount of Butox 50 per 100 liters of water
The amount of Butox 50 per 1000 liters of water
The amount of Butox 50 per 1000 liters of water

The calculation of the required amount of Butox 50 emulsion concentrate is carried out according to the following formula:

(A x B) / C = X,

where: X is the amount of the initial 5% emulsion concentrate in ml, necessary for the preparation of 1 liter of working emulsion; A is the concentration of the working emulsion; In - the required volume of the working emulsion (ml); C is the percentage of active substance in the preparation.

Attention!
Example: It is required to prepare 1 liter of 0.003% Butox 50% emulsion. Substituting the values in the formula, we obtain:

X = 0.003x1000 / 5 = 0.6 ml

Therefore, for the preparation of 1 liter of a 0.003% emulsion, it is necessary to take 0.6 ml of 5% Butox 50; for 10 l - 6 ml, for 100 l - 60 ml, etc.

A portion of the drug is emulsified in a small volume of water (1: 4), then gradually poured into a bath or a container for disassembling and water is added to the required volume. The temperature of the working emulsion should be in the range of 15 - 20 ° C.

For a successful treatment of scabies, it is necessary to conduct two courses with a break of ten days. To prevent the disease, it is recommended to take one course every six months. If lice are present, one course of treatment is usually required.

If ticks are present, repeat the treatment every time according to the degree of infection. To destroy the flies, a single use of Butox 50 is necessary, which is usually enough for a period of 6 to 8 weeks.

For the treatment of cattle psoroptosis, an aqueous emulsion is used in a concentration of 0.005%, it is treated with the spray method twice for treatment with an interval of 7-10 days, once for prophylactic purposes.

To combat single-host ixodid ticks use a solution in a concentration of 0.0025%, in the presence of two or three-host ticks in animals, it is recommended to treat with a concentration of 0.00375%.

Against flies, a 0.0025% aqueous emulsion is used by spraying. Against lice, a 0.00125% aqueous emulsion is used. Against ixodid ticks in the season of their activity, animals are sprayed once every 6 to 7 days before pasture on a pasture or after a day's rest; with entomoses - according to indications.

When processing animals against sarcoptoid and ixodid ticks, as well as insects, the rate of consumption of a working emulsion is 2 - 3 liters per animal. For the treatment of sheep against psoroptosis by bathing, a 0.003% aqueous emulsion is used. For prophylactic purposes, animals are treated once, for therapeutic purposes - twice with an interval of 7 to 10 days.

Handling dogs, cats and fur animals

The treatment of animals is carried out by wetting the hair and skin on the affected areas with a prepared Butox 50 working solution, or the entire surface of the body is treated. Long-haired breeds of animals can be bathed whole. An animal house, litter or doghouse is also treated.

Important!
Before use, Butox 50 is dissolved in cool tap water. To treat animals from fleas, lice, and lice eaters, 1 dose (1 ml) of the drug is diluted in 4 liters of water. When animals are infected with ixodid ticks, 1 dose (1 ml) of the drug is diluted in 1.3 liters of water, repeated treatment, in the season of tick activity, is carried out once every 6 to 7 days.

For the treatment of scabies, it is necessary to treat the affected area with the capture of 1 - 2 cm of healthy skin, 1 dose (1 ml) of the drug is diluted in 1 liter of water and the coat and skin are moistened with the resulting solution.

Re-treatment is carried out after 7 to 10 days until two negative skin scrapings are obtained. Before using the drug, the animal should not be washed three days before treatment, and also within three days after treatment.

Room processing

Butox 50 is used for processing rooms, nightmares, corrals in the presence of animals, including young animals. It is used against all flying and crawling arthropods, including cockroaches, red bird mites (Dermanyssus), lice-flies, flour chippers, ants, bedbugs and others.

Disinfestation and decontamination of premises is carried out by the method of small-droplet spraying. The consumption rate depends both on the type of surface being treated (concrete, stone, wood, plastic), as well as on the types of insects.

Consumption rate
Consumption rate

SIDE EFFECTS. Subject to the indicated concentrations and proper use, side effects are usually not observed. There are no restrictions when used during pregnancy.

CONTRAINDICATIONS. Sick and weak animals are not treated. It is not recommended to use Butox 50 in combination with organophosphorus insecticides, which can impair metabolism and thus increase the toxicity of deltamethrin.

special instructions

Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 5 days after processing. In the event of a forced slaughter of a predetermined period, the meat is used to feed carnivores or for the production of meat and bone meal.

Milk from milking animals is forbidden to be used for food purposes within 3 days after processing, but is suitable for feeding animals. The emulsion is not allowed to enter the eyes, nose and mouth of the animal.

The simultaneous use of FOS with Butox 50 reduces the rate of biotransformation of the drug and increases its toxicity. It is forbidden to store and transport Butoks 50 and containers from under it together with food and fodder.

All work with the drug is carried out using protective clothing (bathrobe, rubberized apron, headgear, rubber boots and gloves, safety glasses, respirator). During work, it is forbidden to smoke, drink or eat food.

After finishing work, you should thoroughly wash your face and hands with soap and water, rinse your mouth. In case of accidental contact with the skin or mucous membranes, rinse immediately with a jet of water or remove with a swab; if ingested, drink 2 - 3 tablets of activated charcoal with warm water.

Advice!
The container contaminated with the preparation is neutralized for 5-6 hours with a 3-5% solution of soda ash, then washed with water. The remains of the drug are neutralized with a 5% solution of caustic alkali or an aqueous suspension of slaked or bleach (suspension in water 1: 3).

Concentrate, solution residues or used containers are not allowed to enter water bodies, it is forbidden to pollute livestock pens, water pipes and gutters with them. Containers must be cleaned thoroughly, rinsing them well.

After treating containers and protective clothing, the neutralized insecticide residues and wastewater are poured into a pit not less than 0.5 m deep, located away from sources of water supply, water bodies, rivers and grazing areas and buried.

Butox from fleas in the apartment: how it works and its application

Flea bootox in the apartment is a simple and effective solution for controlling parasites. This drug is moderately toxic to warm-blooded animals, so if you follow the safety rules no problems will arise. In addition, if animals became a source of infection, the tool is suitable for them.

Drug action

This insecticide refers to a wide spectrum of drugs. It destroys not only fleas, but also other ectoparasites: lice, ticks, lice eaters, and scabies.

The main agent that infects the nerve ganglia of insects is called deltamethrin. It acts on pests via the contact and enteral pathways, leading to complete paralysis followed by death.

Subject to the recommended doses, the product does not lead to adverse reactions (allergies) in warm-blooded animals, but is extremely dangerous for bees and fish. It is better to refrain from processing rooms where the insecticide can accidentally fall into the water, where the latter are.

After the substance is distributed throughout the apartment, the dwelling will be protected from parasites for up to a month or until the first cleaning using cleaning products. Butox acts on animals longer: manufacturers guarantee protection for up to 2 months.

Insecticide features

The drug is produced by the Dutch company Intervet, and packaged in the Russian division of the company. Butox release form: 1 ml ampoules and 1 liter packaging. You can purchase a pack of 5 pcs. - such a volume is more suitable for processing an apartment.

Attention!
Toxic liquid is diluted in several liters of water until the desired concentration is reached. The product is intended for external use only, care should be taken to prevent the child or pet from swallowing the insecticide.

The drug is an oily yellowish liquid with a rather unpleasant odor resembling kerosene. The substance perfectly emulsifies in water, but to obtain a uniform consistency, the solution should be thoroughly mixed.

The poison is concentrated, so even 1 ml ampoules are enough to process an apartment with a small area (up to 25 m²).

Butox is stored in a dark, dry place away from children, animals and heating appliances. The shelf life of the insecticide is 4 years from the date of manufacture. After opening the glass shell, the flea remedy is used immediately, since it quickly loses its properties.

Advantages and disadvantages

In fact, the drug in question is not chosen so often, because now there are less odorous analogues. However, despite this, the use of Butox has its advantages:

  • high efficiency (for the complete destruction of fleas, 1 treatment is enough);
  • a wide range of effects with relatively low toxicity;
  • ease of use;
  • affordable price.

All this makes the product popular among the population, but do not forget about the flaws that such toxic substances possess. Among them:

How to use butox?

Deltamethrin should not get on the skin and in the respiratory tract of a person, therefore, the instruction calls for the use of gloves and a respirator during the preparation of the emulsion and its spraying.

For irrigation, it is enough to dilute 1 ampoule in 1.5 liters of water, but if the apartment has a large area, you need to increase the dose of the solution.

Processing Features:

  • it is forbidden to combine deltamethrin with organophosphorus insecticides;
  • instead of irrigation, you can wipe the surface with a rag soaked in emulsion;
  • hands need to be protected with gloves;
  • you need to handle all the rooms in the apartment, even the balcony;
  • the corners of the room need more thorough irrigation;
  • you can not use an insecticide near food and places of their storage;
  • during and after disinfestation, the room is ventilated.

The instructions for the drug indicate the exact dosage of the substance for various surfaces: stone, wood, plastic, etc. If the infected living space exceeds 100 m², it is recommended to purchase Butox in a package of 1 liter.

This option will significantly save, because for the disinfestation of a large room requires at least 30 ml of pesticide. In addition, the processing will have to be repeated.

Consumer Reviews

Despite some disadvantages, apartment owners consider this tool highly effective and give preference to it.In some cases, its popularity is associated with the need to destroy parasites not only in the apartment, but also on four-legged friends. Although some users still prefer less hazardous substances than deltamethrin.

The effect of the application is noticeable already a day after application, and the unpleasant odor disappears after 2-3 days. However, consumers complain about the inconvenience of spraying: the drug often falls on objects that do not need processing. However, this problem can be solved, because Butox can be used differently.

Thus, it cannot be said that the insecticide in question is the best, but if you want to destroy the source of infection cheaply and quickly, it will be a good option.
