how to get bed bugs
How to get bed bugs

Hello! With one of my neighbors, Angelina, I communicate quite tightly. Once I noticed that she began to constantly itch.

Angelina said she herself does not know why this began to happen to her. I recommended that she check the bed for bed bugs.

And for sure, it was bedbugs that caused her discomfort! The next step was the effective extermination of these parasites, which was successfully implemented. Want to learn how to get bed bugs as efficiently as possible? Then in the article below you will find detailed information on this issue.

How to fight and get bugs out of the apartment

Bed bugs are one of the most unpleasant creatures that parasitize humans. Why are bedbugs worth such a title? Let's look at everything that prevents the bedbugs and humans from coexisting quietly.

Important!
Firstly, bedbugs breed at an appalling speed. The female bug lays about 5 eggs per day, and, literally in 1-2 months, the larva becomes an adult. Secondly, both larvae and adult bed bugs are able to feed only on blood.

Thirdly, bedbugs are practically immune to physical damage. Thanks to a flattened chitinous shell, crushing a hungry bug is extremely difficult. Saturated with blood, the bug’s body becomes more rounded, and then it becomes much easier to do.

And the last - bugs feed mainly in the dark. And this means that, living in a room infected with bedbugs, you have to forget about a healthy sleep. Although, it is worth noting that the bug bite does not start to itch immediately, sometimes it happens only in the morning.

However, it is difficult to fall asleep, knowing the fact that at this time a lot of bloodsucking parasites climb on you.

From all this we can conclude that thinking about how to get bedbugs out of the apartment is worth it as soon as the first time you encounter them.

Why should the fight against bedbugs be rapid? For the reason that the first meeting or the detection of bites means that the bugs are not so small and will soon become more and more, exponentially.

There are 3 approaches to how to bring home bugs. First, you need to study the problem and understand how to get the bugs yourself. The second is the disinsection of an apartment from bedbugs using SES (sanitary and epidemiological station) or a private company.

The third - folk ways to deal with bedbugs. Each approach has its advantages and disadvantages, as well as requirements. Let's analyze.

Advice!
Self-control of bedbugs is a rather complex and laborious process that requires the right approach and clear action.

It is quite effective if everything is done correctly, in addition, fighting bugs on their own will cost a little cheaper than the services of SES or firms.

What does that require

For self-control of bedbugs, a minimum set of:

  • Protective suit (raincoat can be used) ~ 200 rub.
  • Respirator, required with cartridges (you can use a regular gas mask) ~ 250 rubles.
  • Safety glasses for the eyes (it is advisable to choose ventilated ones - they will not fog up during operation) ~ 50-100 rubles.
  • Rubber gloves.
  • Sprayer ~ 100 rub.
  • Means than poison bugs in the apartment.

Also, wanting to bring out bed bugs yourself, you need to decide what to poison home bugs.

You can familiarize yourself with various means if you need to choose an effective means to combat bedbugs yourself, or try to find feedback from those who have already used any means and achieved positive results. Also, you can find out from friends what means to get the bugs turned out for them.

SES and private firms

One of the most effective ways to get bed bugs is to contact a company or a sanitary and epidemiological station. If you are wondering how much it costs to get bugs with the help of companies or SSs - from 2-3 thousand rubles.

Everything will depend on the area and type of premises. Calling the pest control is most likely the most effective fight against bedbugs, because the people who work there have the necessary skills and valuable work experience, are well versed in various means.

Nevertheless, it is noticeably more expensive than trying to get the bugs out with your own hands.

How to bring out bed bugs quickly

In order for the fight against bed bugs of pest control to be more effective, you need to clean, move the furniture away from the walls, provide access to all possible places and corners in the apartment.

All utensils and food must be tightly packed. It is advisable to send the children for some time to relatives, if possible, do not process the children's room.

Attention!
When you visit the pest control, note that it is imperative to bring the bugs out of the sofa, because this is the most inaccessible place if you poison the bugs yourself.

When disinsecting an apartment, do not expect an instant result - it does not happen. Bug bugs at home takes at least 3 days. Processing the apartment from bugs should be accompanied by subsequent ventilation, since all substances poisoning bugs have a sharp and unpleasant odor.

How to deal with them folk remedies

How to deal with domestic bugs with a lack of funds for pest control or chemical methods of controlling bugs? Folk methods of controlling bugs to help you! They are not as effective as using bugs, and even less so than disinsection, however, if you cannot use the above methods, you can try them.

Fighting bedbugs with folk remedies often implies one of two ways - this is either removing bed bugs with steam, or treating them with some kind of folk bug remedy. There is also a method of “freezing”, it will also be described in detail.

Many disinfectors of the times of the Russian Empire tried to get bed bugs by steam. There was even a special device, somewhat reminiscent of a samovar, having a large number of tubes through which steam came out and it could be sent to different places. This method allows more efficient processing of upholstered furniture from bedbugs than other folk methods.

If the question is - how to get bedbugs out of furniture - then various recipes for folk remedies for bedbugs will be more suitable. For example, you need to mix 10 grams of naphthalene and 100 grams of dried chamomile and sprinkle near the habitats of bugs.

Also, there is an opinion that bugs are afraid of the smell of wormwood, therefore, one of the folk remedies to get rid of bugs is to scatter dried wormwood around the house. In addition, many advise to water the habitats of bugs and furniture with boiling water.

Others advise putting a saucer in a room with a solution of ammonia. Mixtures with kerosene were very common. The mixture contains kerosene, a little naphthalene and cresol or green soap, the resulting mixture is applied with a brush to the habitats of bugs.

Important!
Various pest control services to the question - “Is it possible to bring bugs to frost?” - will answer negatively. However, this is not so. Bed bugs are adapted to live in a rather small temperature range.

The method of treating the room with steam is arranged in the same way, but the bugs are destroyed using their upper temperature limit of 50 degrees. “Freezing” requires the creation of indoor temperatures below 25 degrees below zero.

In this case, the bugs quite quickly first fall into hibernation (hibernation), and then die within a few hours. It is very important, with this method, to keep the temperature as long as possible so that both furniture bugs and bugs hidden in the most inaccessible places die.

Bed bugs (domestic) - useful information

Bed bugs are Hemiptera or Heteroptera insects that are closest to the family of Homoptera insects (mealybugs, whiteflies, aphids, leaf insects, cicadas).

The total body length of bedbugs varies significantly from half a millimeter to 12 centimeters. The mouth apparatus of the sucking bug is with a segmented proboscis attached to the top of the head.

The antennae of it also consist of segments, and the elytra (two pairs) have a leathery structure. Most people are interested in and disturbed by the so-called home bugs.

Bedbug (Cimex lectularius) belongs to the family of Hemoptera, a suborder of bedbugs. In general, at least 50,000 species of bugs live on Earth, but in everyday life we have the opportunity to encounter only one of them: a bed bug.

Home bugs are not too voracious, it is enough to pump blood only once a week. However, the worst thing is their gigantic fertility and a very large number.

It is very difficult and unpleasant for a person to be with bugs in the same room. Therefore, a natural question arises before him: how to deal with bed bugs, how to get them out? It should be noted right away that getting rid of bed bugs is a rather complicated, troublesome and time-consuming task.

Advice!
The average size of home bugs can be in the range of 3-8 millimeters.

How bed bugs breed. Domestic bugs are insects with an incomplete transformation cycle. A mature female bug can lay about five eggs per day. Throughout her life, she is able to bring up to 500 eggs.

The average life of a bed bug is about 15 months. If the bugs have created favorable conditions, then the egg can turn into an imago within one month, and under adverse conditions - up to 100 days.

Bed bugs react sharply to changes in room temperature. They die at temperatures above +50 degrees and below -18. Mating bugs occurs by the method of traumatic insemination: the abdomen of a female is pierced by the male genital organ. The male introduces sperm into the hole formed.

Home bugs smell very unpleasant. Some people claim that they smell spoiled raspberries, while others say that it smells like stale almonds.

However, in order to smell something and say whether the bugs smell, you should be in a small room with a huge number of bugs.

Do pet bugs bite. Bed bugs and pets live exactly the same pattern as bed bugs and humans. That is, these insects do not care who they bite, they are even able to bite each other. And it’s best for dogs and cats to stay away from them.

By the way, the same picture is observed with rats and with hamsters. So the answer to the question of whether bedbugs of domestic animals bite can only be affirmative.

Why get bed bugs. There is an opinion that bugs appear in dirty and damp places, however, this opinion is not true. In fact, they just need to eat blood.

Attention!
In fact, you may simply not notice how the bugs appear. To do this, you need to know how they are carried. But they are transferred very easily and simply: the fact is that they are real travelers.

A person may not even suspect that such a “traveler” is wound up in his clothes or things. Bedbugs easily move from place to place in suitcases or, for example, in sleeping bags, carried on jackets or shirts.

If you suspect something was amiss after your hikes or trips, then it is best for you to play it safe and hand over all things to dry cleaning. And if you do not have such an opportunity, then upon arrival home, immediately run to the bathroom and throw off all your things, carefully examine them, and then shake everything out of your clothes. Then carefully overhaul everything at high temperature.

Fighting home bugs is almost very, very difficult. It’s almost impossible to get rid of bedbugs from electronics, books, furniture 100%: for example, in the USA it will take at least $ 5,000 to get bedbugs out of the house. And if the house is high in area, then this amount can increase to 80,000 dollars!

Dichlorvos-based insecticides are extremely ineffective in controlling these blood-sucking insects. Bedbugs can be brought out with potent insecticides made on the basis of kalbofos.

Effectively and relatively inexpensively, you can get rid of bedbugs only in a small area.

Than dangerous

Different medical scientists have different opinions. Some believe that bedbugs are carriers of many serious diseases, while others say that this ability of bedbugs has not yet been proven.

Important!
We will not argue with scientists and say that bedbugs may be carriers of the following diseases: hepatitis B; plague; leprosy; smallpox tuberculosis. However, we can say for sure that bed bugs deliver a lot of troubles and problems to a person. A person loses the opportunity to fully relax and sleep.

The bug bite brings with it severe itching. An allergy to bedbug bites is possible: rashes, redness and irritation appear in the bite area. The bug moves on the surface of human skin and is able to make about 500 bites per night!

Methods of struggle

All methods of getting rid of bugs can be divided into two parts: chemical; non-chemical. It is clear that chemical measures to control bedbugs consist of the use of various chemicals (insecticides, pesticides).

Non-chemical methods of struggle: personal inspection; vacuum cleaning of upholstered furniture; evaporation or washing of bedding and some others.

Where do bed bugs live?. Bed bug habitats:

  • bed dress;
  • mattresses;
  • under the bed;
  • all cracks and baseboards in the infected room;
  • drawers in the room;
  • stuffing of soft pillows;
  • peeling wallpaper and objects hanging on the walls;
  • cracks in the plaster;
  • panels of electrical switches and sockets;
  • landline phones;
  • clock;
  • children's toys and so on.

How to get bed bugs out of the sofa (upholstered furniture, beds, mattresses, armchairs, beds):

  • Wet cleaning should first be done in the treated room.
  • Take out all the dishes and food.
  • Take pets away.
  • Remove all bedding, curtains and rugs (they should be boiled in water).
  • Take away all unnecessary things.
  • Prepare the insecticide and start staining bugs.
  • Work all available (and hard to reach) places.
  • Go through the preparation on the ventilation grill, window and doorways.
  • After removing the bugs, the room should be carefully ventilated. At this time, it is best to leave home.

After chemical treatment, do not wash for several days: floors; baseboards; walls. To remove the corpses of bugs from upholstered furniture and carpets should be vacuumed.

How to get home bugs out of clothes. Removing forever from this problem will help you to remove bedbugs from parts of clothing by heat treatment (freezing, boiling or steaming).

In order to prevent your own health, you should not treat your clothes (especially underwear) with chemicals.

Today, in stores there are a large number of different tools that allow you to bring bugs at home. A sharp change in temperature will help to get bed bugs at home. Furniture items can be taken out in the cold, and thereby lime uninvited guests.

To stain bugs at home will help ordinary boiling water. It should only scald them with places of accumulation of harmful insects. However, it should be remembered that bedbugs produce a lot of offspring, and they reproduce year-round.

Bed bugs have a very high degree of adaptation to all drugs used against them. And all this together significantly complicates the independent elimination of bloody parasites.

Advice!
We should not forget that bedbugs like to live in the most inaccessible places and crawl out of them only in the dark. Of course, and this will add you additional trouble and worries. Therefore, the removal of bugs at home is a very difficult task, almost impossible.

In addition, subsequent exposure to the same drugs will be less and less effective. Therefore, we recommend that you nevertheless seek help from the appropriate bedbug disposal service provided with professional preparations and special equipment.

How to get rid of bedbug eggs. Today, many powerful drugs have been created for a ruthless fight against bugs and their larvae and eggs. However, all these substances are dangerous not only for bedbugs, but also for humans.

Therefore, try to purchase in advance:

  1. gloves
  2. protective glasses;
  3. respirator.

Bedbug eggs are not as noticeable as bedbugs themselves, but it is possible to detect them. Chemically treat the room.

Processing alone is clearly not enough. Therefore, try to repeat it after a while.

Folk ways

Recall that freezing is a very effective way to get rid of bed bugs. Bed bugs cannot stand the cold and die very quickly.

It is enough to make the sofa 15-20 degrees below zero and soon (after a few hours) it will turn into a mass grave for the bloody bastards.

A good effect is shown by treatment with boiling water. For the death of a bug, a water temperature of about +45 degrees is quite enough.

However, the next problem may be the cleaning of beds, mattresses and sofas about the corpses of dead bugs and drying of all furniture details.

A good adjuvant in the fight against bedbugs is wormwood. You can buy it at every pharmacy. Wormwood grass should be laid out in places most often visited by bedbugs, as well as in every inaccessible place. Insects do not tolerate the smell of wormwood.

You can also stain bedbugs with vinegar. A solution of vinegar is an extremely effective way to combat bedbugs with folk remedies. The bed bug has a very acute sense of smell, and the smell of vinegar will destroy the bug, wherever it is.

Attention!
A full-fledged flight through the air for a home bug is impossible, due to the lack of wings. The parasitic way of life led bugs to an almost complete loss of wing appendages.

However, for garden bugs in flight, there is nothing surprising, since they have wings quite developed for the flight. Therefore, struggling with garden bugs is somewhat more difficult: they can simply fly to another place.

To combat garden bugs (American stink, green bug), the site should be treated with insecticides in several stages. It is preferable to carry out the processing in April and in May.

Prevention of occurrence

Prevention measures include:

  • regular check for bugs;
  • taking necessary measures when they are detected;
  • compliance with the rules of hygiene of the room;
  • washing, boiling and ironing of bed linen.

Do not visit places where parasites are present (hot spots).
For fuller observance of preventive measures, invite professional specialists.

How much does it cost to get bed bugs. Depending on the volume of the room and its clutter, the price of its high-quality processing can vary significantly.

The average cost of processing a room in a hostel (up to 20 square meters) costs about 20,000 rubles. Try not to bring bed bugs to your home, and your life will be more full of joyful, positive emotions!

How to bring out bed bugs?

Bed bugs have been neighbors with humans since ancient times, despite their small size, these parasites can cause a lot of trouble, so for the owners of the house where they settled, the main task is to remove bed bugs.

Important!
Bedbug home bed, sofa or furniture - the same insect. This parasite is blood-sucking and feeds on the blood of a person and his domestic animals if the owner himself is absent for any reason.

Adult insects reach a length of not more than 0.8 mm, have a brown, red and dirty yellow color, their body shape is flat, allowing them to penetrate into any gap. The life cycle of parasites lasts from 12 to 14 months, during which time their females lay at least 300 white eggs resembling rice grains.

Thoughts on how to get rid of bed bugs arise among the residents of the room, where they settled down for a reason. In addition to the fact that the proximity of any insect annoys and depresses a person, bedbugs also bite their owners.

Although the bites of adults are practically painless, they cause severe itching, allergic reactions, in some cases mild anemia, do not contribute to a sound and healthy sleep.

A person who is bitten by parasites, due to lack of sleep, becomes lethargic, painful, irritable, his performance decreases.

The question of how and how to kill bed bugs also arises because these parasites multiply very quickly and soon fill up more and more large spaces of housing, the owners of which are increasingly becoming victims of their attack.

Active reproduction of these parasites is facilitated by comfortable living conditions, namely:

  1. The optimum temperature is from 25 to 30 degrees.
  2. Normal humidity.

If these two conditions are met, then the cleanliness and order in the house of a bloodsucker is absolutely not interesting, since the parasite settles in any room where there is food.

Advice!
Finding uninvited guests in the house, the owners should resolve the issues of how to destroy bed bugs as soon as possible. There are several ways to get rid of such “roommates”, including selling an apartment and moving.

But, this is a very radical way, therefore it is easier to call the pest control service or, if not the whole apartment is infected with insects, try to destroy them yourself.

How to get rid of intruders

The main goal of people who have such "guests" is the destruction of bed bugs. In order to get rid of such a neighborhood, it is necessary to carefully study each method of extermination of parasites and choose the most effective one.

Many people refuse to call pest control services, despite the fact that this is the easiest and most effective way to get rid of uninvited guests. This can be facilitated by factors such as:

  • Lack of financial resources.
  • Allergy to most insect killers.
  • Distrust of sanitation specialists.

Therefore, many people are interested in the answer to the question of how and how to bring out bed bugs on their own. To do this, you can purchase insecticidal drugs and carry out the processing of housing on their own.

Having decided to get rid of bed bugs on your own, it is worth remembering that the task is not easy and you need to approach it wisely. Firstly, pay special attention to the choice of funds, and secondly, get a respirator and rubber gloves.

Another way to destroy parasites is to freeze the home. This is true if the temperature drops below -18 degrees, because at higher temperatures adult parasites, their larvae and eggs are able to survive.

With this method, the owners of the house or apartment leave for several days, leaving the windows open. But, it is worth remembering that frost can destroy not only insects, but also spoil the heating and water supply systems. If possible, they must be disabled.

Another method of ridding the home of the "invaders" is to create an unfavorable temperature regime, which consists in treating the apartment with a steam generator and hot water. You can process all the upholstered furniture, carpets and curtains with steam, but wooden furniture can suffer.

Attention!
This method is good if the parasites have populated only one sofa or bed and is great for those who are looking for a way to get bed bugs out of the sofa.

In villages and villages, they often got rid of parasites by pouring boiling water into the crevices of the floor and baseboards. The disadvantage of this method is that it is very difficult to destroy absolutely all insects, and this is necessary, since even one surviving female is able to revive an entire population.

When asked about how to get rid of bed bugs on their own, older people will be advised to put bundles of tansy and wormwood around the house, as it is believed that the smells of these plants will scare away bloodsuckers. This method is effective as prevention of the appearance of uninvited guests in the house.

Any of the above methods does not guarantee getting rid of parasites the first time and forever, it is worth considering that insects are very resistant to many types of chemicals, they are not afraid of light frost, they die at temperatures above 50 degrees, sharp smells can scare them away, but not kill .

Self-catering

If it is not possible to use the services of pest control services, then most people will prefer to answer the question of how to get rid of bed bugs, which is using insecticides.

Today, there are quite a lot of such products and you can find those that practically do not leave a smell, for example:

  • Geth.
  • Lambda zone.
  • Xulat Micro.
  • Delta zone.

Before using them, you must carefully read the instructions for their use, purchase a respirator and rubber gloves, remove other household members, plants and pets from your home.

Having familiarized yourself with the information on how to remove bed bugs with insecticidal drugs, it is worthwhile to find out that they can not always be destroyed once. Repeated processing may be required, as the parasite eggs are very tenacious.

Having learned all about bed bugs and how to get rid of them, you should pay attention to the fact that insecticides are available in various forms. The most effective of them are smoke bombs, for example, Quiet evening, which is able to process the entire apartment.

Our grandparents were not familiar with the Internet, so they did not have the opportunity to ask a question about bed bugs and how to get rid of them in search engines. They tried to destroy parasites with the help of kerosene, vinegar, turpentine, dust and camphor.

The above funds are ineffective in dealing with uninvited guests, but are very good as a preventative measure. But, before using them, it is worth considering that they have an unpleasant and pungent odor, and are also able to leave marks on furniture.

Important!
Regardless of the choice of the method of getting rid of bloodsuckers, it is worthwhile to understand that the processing of all housing should be carried out simultaneously, and not sequentially, since parasites will travel from one room to another.

If you do not make an attempt to destroy all intruders once, then within a month the dwelling will again be filled with them, since the surviving individuals will bring offspring.

How to effectively and permanently remove bed bugs from an apartment

Unfortunately, the problem of removing bed bugs is still relevant. It would seem, where do they come from in modern comfortable apartments where there are no such unsanitary conditions as in the former communal apartments and barracks, where the bugs were permanent residents.

Nevertheless, they can appear in any house, for example, crawl away from neighbors in the duct system or even “move” with new furniture.

These insects are far from being as harmless as it might seem at first glance. The photo clearly shows how the bugs look, and the size of the parasites is usually no more than 8 mm.

This parasitic blood-sucking insect is incredibly viable: so, if residents leave the apartment, where the bugs had “both a table and a house,” then the parasite simply falls into suspended animation, which can last up to a year and a half, and when a person appears, comes back to life, no matter how than never happened.

The bug bite causes a sensation of itching, and since they drink our blood at night, in a dream, sleep becomes restless, and some people who find these parasites in their bed or their traces may develop persistent insomnia and even phobia.

Tiny wounds from bites, especially if combed, can become a gateway for infection, and in children and people prone to allergies, cause a pronounced reaction.

Advice!
At the first signs of the appearance of a house of bugs, urgent measures must be taken, as they multiply very quickly. Typically, these signs are bite marks on the skin, as well as small blood stains on the bedding.

Black dots from bedbug excrement can be seen on the mattress, wooden details of the bed and especially on the carpets, which often hang close to the bed - this is where the real bedbug nursery is!

General outline of actions

The most reliable way is to turn to the help of professionals and call the pest control service, but they resort to it quite rarely, including because of a sense of shame. Most try to bring out bed bugs on their own.

Remember: although we are talking about bed bugs, they can nest not only in bed, but also in carpets, baseboards, wallpaper, furniture, and even not in close proximity to the bedroom place, so a considerable area will have to be processed, including without fail all soft furniture.

Bedbug nesting places
Bedbug nesting places

Chemicals work most effectively, but they are unsafe for health, so before treatment, you will have to remove children, allergy sufferers and pets for several days.

  • Remember to remove all food and hygiene products.
  • It is best to boil bedding or at least wash it at a temperature of at least 60 ° C, and then iron it thoroughly with a very hot iron, preferably with steam, on both sides. The same applies to curtains.
  • Carpets, pillows, blankets and mattresses are most likely to be dry cleaned.
  • Furniture needs to be moved away from the walls so far that the back wall and baseboard can be processed.

We use industrial facilities

Currently, a whole series of insecticides are available on the household chemicals market, which destroy, including, bedbugs.

Almost all of them have a strong smell, but the point is not only that it is unpleasant - it can also negatively affect a person, therefore, in order to remove bed insects, you need to protect yourself:

  • wear protective clothing that covers hands to the wrist; cover hair with a scarf or hat, use gloves to protect hands;
  • it is especially dangerous to get chemicals on the mucous membranes and eyes, so treatment should be carried out in a respirator or, at least, a medical mask and safety glasses;
  • in the room where the pest control is carried out, in no case should you eat and smoke;
  • if a chemical agent comes into contact with the skin, immediately wash it off with running water and soap and lubricate the skin with cream;
  • after processing the room immediately leave it, tightly closing the windows and doors.

Insecticides are available in the form of:

  1. aerosols effective against adults and, to a lesser extent, against their eggs;
  2. powders, some of which were used already in ancient times and became part of modern drugs;
  3. concentrates, usually consisting of several active substances; most of them are professional tools that can destroy both adult bugs and their eggs;
  4. gels used as a barrier to the movement of parasites to sleeping places; they should be used after a full-scale removal of bed bugs;
  5. preparations in microcapsules that are used in professional processing; can be stored for a long time, maintaining its effectiveness;
  6. traps, reviews of which are rather unflattering, since only human blood attracts bugs, and for obvious reasons you can’t put it in a trap.

Before deciding how to remove bed bugs, you need to carefully study the instructions for use, which indicate the method of application, its degree of toxicity to humans, the presence of odor, etc. Here is a list of the most effective drugs for bed bugs.

The executioner, safe for humans and animals, holds a leading position. One bottle containing an oily emulsion (it will need to be diluted with water) is enough to process 5 square meters. m surface.

The "executioner" exerts a nerve-paralytic effect on insects and their larvae, causing their death after 5-6 hours. However, bedbug eggs do not die, so one or two treatments will be required after 4-5 days. Thus, in 2 weeks you can completely remove bed bugs.

“Sulfak” in the form of an oily-water emulsion remains effective for 3 months after treatment. A day after processing, wet cleaning is mandatory.

"Get", "Minap-22" are analogues in their composition and contain the main active ingredient - microencapsulated cypermethrin. Scattered in places where bugs are accumulated, they have a prolonged effect for up to 40 days and completely destroy them, and not just scare them away, and at the same time are practically safe for humans and animals.

Attention!
Fendona, Medilis Cyper and Tetrix are professional formulations, also based on cypermethrin, which are used by specialized organizations; have a fairly strong odor and residual toxic effects on humans.
"Actellik" allows you to quickly remove bed bugs, but it is quite toxic and has an unpleasant odor.

“Combat superspray” and “Dichlorvos” are available in spray cans, which facilitates the processing of hard-to-reach spots (under skirting boards, in folds of upholstered furniture, etc.). The first one has perfumes, and the second one has a pungent odor and is quite toxic.

"Delta zone." Effective concentrated emulsion based on deltamethrin, odorless, harmless to humans and pets. Destroys several generations of parasites at once; has a prolonged effect.

The use of any of these funds should be carried out clearly according to the instructions, since excess concentration of the solution or other deviations from the instructions can cause negative consequences.

If we are talking about a solution, then you can use a garden sprayer or special nozzles on plastic bottles, and for hard-to-reach places - a thin brush or syringe.

To permanently remove bugs, you must block them in the room, cutting off all the escape routes.

To do this, the perimeter is primarily processed: doors, skirting boards, walls, ceiling, ventilation holes, and only then proceed to the processing of furniture.

One of the favorite places of "nesting" of insects are electrical outlets, but before processing them, it is necessary to turn off the electricity.

It is advisable to leave the room closed for a day so that the insecticide can fully function, and after a day it should be properly aired, and it is better for several days.

Important!
General cleaning is recommended to be carried out only after two weeks, but for now, limit yourself to wiping surfaces that you often come in contact with (except the floor). Only after this you can return to your home with the whole family.

By the way, the disappearance of cockroaches, ants, flies and other insects will be a nice bonus to the use of these drugs.

Folk methods

There are several ways to remove bed bugs on their own, however, they do not give a one hundred percent guarantee:

  • by steam: treat upholstered furniture, carpets, skirting boards and other places where bugs are concentrated with a steam generator;
  • vinegar: 9% vinegar will scare away the bugs with its smell, but will not kill, so the processing of furniture, baseboards, doorways, crevices, etc. will have to be repeated regularly;
  • ammonia, the smell of which the bugs can not stand and crawl; ammonia is recommended to be poured into small containers and placed in places of accumulation of bugs;
  • turpentine, which spray places of accumulation of insects;
  • kerosene, to 200 ml of which add 100 ml of creosol and 10 ml of naphthalene, and then the room is treated with this combustible mixture.

All these products have a very strong unpleasant odor, which is difficult for humans to tolerate, and kerosene, in addition, is also fire hazardous. In addition, such processing will have to be carried out regularly, and it does not give a full guarantee.

However, there are much safer ways to control plants:

  • sprinkle areas of parasite accumulation with dry chamomile or treat them with its alcohol tincture twice a day for a week so that the chamomile has its paralyzing effect on bedbugs;
  • wormwood has a prophylactic effect - the bugs do not tolerate its smell, so the wormwood, fresh or dried, should be laid out under the mattress, in sofas and other places attractive for bedbugs, previously wrapped in cotton fabric.

However, removing bed bugs forever only by folk methods does not work - it is necessary to use modern effective drugs.

How to eliminate bed bugs?

Bed bug (Cimex lectularius) - a small insect, 4-8 mm, belonging to the family of Semi-Rugged (Bedbugs). Unlike members of their family, bed bugs are devoid of wings. The body is very flattened, which allows the insect to easily penetrate into narrow cracks and cracks.

The shape of the body changes depending on the degree of saturation of the bug: from round (hungry) to more elongated (full).

The same variability is inherent in the color of the insect: a hungry bug from pale yellow to light brown in color, but “having lunch”, the insect becomes darker, the color is bright, sometimes almost to black.

Breeding

Bed bugs are insects with incomplete transformation. This means that the life cycle of the bug consists of 3 stages: an egg, a larva, an adult insect (imago), and the larva looks very much like an imago in appearance, only in miniature.

The female lays eggs daily! In an amount of 1 to 12 pcs. in a day! And given the prohibitively long life, as for an insect, life (bed bugs live up to 14 months), one female bug can bring more than five hundred of her own to our world!

Advice!
The timing of the development of bugs, like all other insects, depends on the ambient temperature. At low air temperatures, development slows down, at high, on the contrary, it accelerates.

So, at room temperature of 14-18 ° C the hatching of bedbug larvae occurs after 20-22 days, and at 35-37 ° C - after 5-6 days. Temperature below 14 ° C inhibits the development of bed bugs! The appeared larvae are small, a little more than a millimeter, almost transparent. But! While the larva becomes an adult bug, it molts 5 times!

And every time before molting, she must drink a portion of blood! After 28-30 days, the larva fully grows, and we get an adult, ready for breeding. Using simple mathematical calculations, it is easy to determine that a new generation of bed bugs, on average, appears 1 time in a month and a half.

Given the dependence of the timing of the development of bugs on temperature, we can conclude that their maximum reproduction occurs in the summer months or in very well-heated rooms.

Behavior and Bites

Bed bugs are nocturnal insects. At all active stages of development (females, males, larvae) feed only on blood and in 9 out of 10 cases - this blood will be ours, human. As a rule, the bug attacks prey in the dark.

The exception is especially hungry individuals, which bite in daylight. We may encounter such a situation upon arrival at the cottage, after a long, half-year absence. Ask: “How so? We were gone for six months! Where are the bugs from? ”

It turns out that bed bugs easily endure fasting for up to 1 year! So these parasites protected themselves in case of lack of food.

Most often, bedbugs bite body parts that are not covered by clothing or a blanket. The duration of the blood sucking of the female is 15 minutes, the larva is about 1 minute.

The bite itself is almost insensitive. The sensation of a bite appears after the insect runs away. The bug pierces the skin several times until it finds a suitable place for a “meal”. This fact explains the bites characteristic of bed bugs in the form of a “path”.

Bed bugs have large spherical eyes, but they do not see well. Prey is sought solely by smell. I recalled the story of an old acquaintance ... While doing military service in the Soviet army, he had to sleep in wooden barracks teeming with bugs.

Attention!
The soldiers could only dream of a healthy dream, insects complicated the already difficult army life. They found a way out: each leg of the carapace bed was put in a bowl of water so that insects would not crawl into bed.

But the bugs also found a way out of the situation. They climbed the walls to the ceiling and, clearly above someone’s bed, “dived” down. And such cases are not isolated. Entomologists explain this behavior of parasites precisely by searching for prey by smell.

Harm

In the question regarding bed bugs, we can say that nature took pity on humanity, because from the point of view of epidemiology, bed bugs are absolutely harmless, i.e. are not carriers of any infectious diseases. But all the epidemic harmlessness of these insects is crossed out by their insatiable desire to drink our blood, depriving us of a healthy sleep.

The response to a bug bite is different for each person. In most cases, an allergic reaction develops, accompanied by severe itching, pain, papule formation, and extensive redness. And given the fact that for 1 night in some people found up to 300 (!) Bites, bedbugs can cause anaphylactic shock.

Only a small part of people do not notice bites at all, or only red dots remain in their place.

It is these red dots that cause a visit to a dermatologist, an allergist ... And the "patient" begins a course of treatment, takes medication, passes tests, in general - is treated, but until at one moment he sees at home ... a bug. And the true cause of the "red rash" becomes clear.

How to detect

Where to look for bed bugs? First of all, you need to examine the place where the person sleeps: mattresses, cracks and cracks in the bed, upholstery of upholstered furniture, baseboards, etc.

A characteristic sign of the presence of bed bugs is the presence of chitinous remains of molted larvae. With a large number of parasites in the room, a characteristic unpleasant odor will be heard.

Important!
Ideal cleanliness in the house, the apartment is not insurance against the appearance of bugs. We can bring them to our homes with new purchases: be it new furniture or a TV. No one is safe from this.

Bedbugs can also creep into your apartment on their own, for example, from neighbors through ventilation systems. Adult parasites move at a speed of 1.25 m per minute and it will not be difficult for them to “get along” a large high-rise building in a couple of months.

How to withdraw

So, bugs appeared - we make a decision: we will fight! We have 2 options: bring out bed bugs on our own or call specialists.

If you have chosen the first path, I advise you to gain strength and patience. First of all, you need to understand that the process of destroying bugs is a long one. At one time, no one will disappear! Our methods of control are divided into chemical, thermal and mechanical.

The chemical method - everything is very clear here! We buy an insecticide and carefully process beds, sofas, furniture, baseboards, etc. Processing is carried out weekly. Do not forget about the protective equipment!

Behind the seeming simplicity of this method, a lot of "pitfalls" are hidden. Disinfection is a whole science that has developed and is developing according to certain laws, rules. All calculations, formulas, methods are based on many years of practical experience of more than one thousand people!

The wrong dosage of the drug, its dilution, spraying method and much, much more cause the growth of the number of parasites when we expected their complete disappearance.

And the saddest thing is that the new generation of bed bugs will be “grafted” to the poison used and the recommended dosage of the insecticide is already ineffective. All this leads to a significant increase in the financial component in our fight against parasites.

Advice!
Thermal method - based on the fact that bugs, their eggs and larvae die at a temperature of +50 ° C and above. The method is very effective, but difficult to master with "improvised", home remedies. You won’t push the sofa into the oven ...

The mechanical method is our weapon - a vacuum cleaner and a newspaper (slippers). With a vacuum cleaner without a brush, you can use a special nozzle for crevices, we will go through all the "secluded" places, we will catch those who run away with a newspaper (slipper). After the procedure, the dust bag must be disposed of. The method is the least effective.

For those who chose the second option of fighting bugs. We call professional specialists, they will hold a consultation with you, inspect the premises, choose the most suitable method of struggle and save you from bedbugs much faster and better.
